The Yukon-Kuskokwim Health Corporation (YKHC) is a comprehensive health care delivery system for 58 rural communities in southwest Alaska. Included in this system are: community clinics, sub-regional clinics, a regional hospital, dental services, mental health services, substance abuse counseling and treatment, health promotion and disease prevention programs, and environmental health services. Located in the Southwestern Alaska town of Bethel (with a total of approximately 6,000 people), YKHC supports 1500 employees, providing the health services to a primarily Yup'ik Eskimo Native population for an area the size of Oregon.
