The Quechee Club

Company Overview

Facilities | In 1968, Quechee Lakes Landowners Association (QLLA) was developed from 6,000 acres of farmland and forest into the premier New England residential and resort community it is today. Located in East/Central Vermont, Quechee is 2 hours from Boston, MA and Hartford CT, 21/2 hours from Montreal, Quebec and 4 hours from New York City. Quechee Lakes currently provides vacation or year-round homes for approximately 1,400 families. The Clubhouse was opened in 1974, and received an $8 million renovation in 2005/2006. The Clubhouse contains a Health Club with locker rooms and saunas, an indoor pool, our Golf Pro Shop and squash courts. Additionally, The Clubhouse provides multiple dining options for our members and guests.

Davidson’s, our primary member’s restaurant, is a mixture of relaxed refinement and simple excellence. We use mostly farm to market food products and source locally whenever possible. Our seafood comes fresh from the ocean – an advantage of being located within 2 hours of Boston. Our Main Dining Room seats over 200 people and serves as our banquet facility. In the summer months we regularly serve members on Dewey’s Deck which overlooks the first hole of the Lakeland Golf Course, our outdoor swimming pool and the Ottauquechee River.

In 1985, QLLA purchased a quaint nineteenth-century farmhouse named Murphy Farm. This historic building is located on the shores of Lake Pinneo, our private man-made 50-acre lake. In the summer, Murphy Farm serves as the base for our ever-expanding kids’ camp program and is affectionately called Murphy Tavern in the winter months, when we are open on the weekends. Murphy Tavern provides seating for up to 60 guests, a roaring fireplace and quaint bar.

Lake Pinneo provides beach swimming, recreational sailing and canoeing in the summer months. In the winter months the lake provides water for 100% snowmaking at the Quechee Ski Area where we boast a newly installed quad chair lift, T-bar, and rope tow. A certified ski school operates out of the Base Lodge and offers both group and private lessons. A fully equipped ski shop, also located in the Base Lodge, outfits the alpine or cross-country skier with the best available rental equipment.

In addition to these first-class amenities, The Quechee Club is proud of its two outstanding golf courses, both of which were designed by one the world’s foremost architects, Geoffrey Cornish. The Highland course offers some of the most scenic vistas in Quechee and 6,765 yards of challenging greens. Our second course, Lakeland, provides many challenges as it meanders 6,569 yards along the Ottauquechee River and Lake Pinneo.

The Quechee Club also provides its members with excellent tennis facilities consisting of a professionally stocked and operated Tennis Shop, 8 Har-Tru tennis courts and 3 all-weather courts.

Our Base Lodge, located across from the Tennis Center, provides quick food and beverage service for skiers in the winter and golfers and tennis players in the summer. The upper level of the Base Lodge is home to our Recreation Center, where many of the children’s activities are hosted.. Most recently, QLLA added Platform Tennis to our already ongoing list of amenities
