Company Overview

The mission of the Foundation Schools is to serve the special education needs of students with emotional disabilities. We have developed a culture of learning in which students, with the support of staff, are encouraged to continuously learn and improve. Our instructional program is rooted in the Mastery Learning philosophy, which is based on the premise that all students can learn and achieve given the appropriate instructional conditions. Curriculum and instructional strategies are created to promote students’ mastery of the skills, knowledge, and attitudes they need to be successful.

The Foundation Schools' Clinical Program consists of a variety of interventions to meet the specific educational, behavioral and therapeutic needs of each individual student. These services are based on the goals and objectives identified in each student’s Individual Education Plan (IEP) and include the following:

Individual therapy: Individual therapy is provided on a weekly basis and addresses behavioral, emotional, and academic concerns that impact a student’s functioning in school and at home. Individual therapy sessions focus on student’s social-emotional goals indicated on their IEP and provide students with ongoing support.

Group Therapy: Students have group therapy three times a week. Group therapy sessions are designed to facilitate students learning communication and coping skills. Group modules have been developed to provide structured learning activities including group discussions, role-plays, and expressive therapy activities. The modules include such topics as the following:

Feelings Awareness
Who Am I
Bullies, Targets, and Bystanders
Chemical Dependency Prevention
Chemical Dependency Education
