The mission of the Tennessee Department of Health is to protect, promote, and improve the health and prosperity of people in Tennessee. We are a statewide team of highly talented and dedicated professionals who are committed to working collaboratively on effective, engaging public health efforts. Through a statewide network of 89 rural county health departments, we provide thousands of direct and indirect services daily. All 6.9 million residents and millions of visitors are impacted by our efforts focused on the strategic priorities of preventing injury, illness, and disease, and increasing access to care.
