Company Overview

Founded in 1875 by the Hospital Sisters of St. Francis, HSHS St. John’s Hospital is a regional medical center with more than 400 beds. We combine modern technology with the caring spirit of our original founders.

Situated in historic downtown Springfield, Illinois, St. John’s offers a variety of specialized services to meet patient needs. We are a certified Level I Trauma Center with one of the most advanced Surgery Centers in the nation and recently renovated our patient tower to all private rooms.

Our Prairie Heart Institute is recognized nationally, while the HSHS St. John’s Children’s Hospital hosts the only Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit in our region. Other services include orthopedic care, cancer care, women’s services, pain management, wound care, hospice and a sleep center.
