St. Francis Hospital opened in 1950 as a 154-bed facility on 21 acres of pasture land. It has grown into a 376-bed facility that provides a wide array of services that meet the health care needs of West Georgia and the surrounding area. From cardiac care, orthopaedics, behavioral health programs and emergency services to assisted living, women’s services and rehabilitation, we have highly trained professionals and the latest technology to help you regain and maintain your health. Notable Accomplishments / Recognition

St. Francis earned two statewide awards from the Georgia Hospital Association/Partnership for Health and Accountability (GHA/PHA). First, the hospital received a third place award in the Greater Than 300 Beds category for “Implementing a Blood Management Safety Program.”
St. Francis also became the only hospital in Georgia to receive a fourth consecutive PHA Circle of Excellence award. St. Francis won the award for winning a PHA patient safety award in 2010 and for earning four or more PHA patient safety awards within the last five years.


Accreditations

St. Francis Hospital is Columbus’ first and only Chest Pain Center accredited by the Society of Chest Pain Centers.
St. Francis Hospital is Columbus’ first and only Primary Stroke Center accredited by The Joint Commission.
St. Francis Hospital and The Bradley Center (a mental health facility operated by St. Francis) are accredited by The Joint Commission.
St. Francis’ Cardiac Rehabilitation program is accredited by the American Association of Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Rehabilitation.
Awards

Three consecutive Consumer Hospital of Choice Awards (2005/2006, 2006/2007 and 2007/2008) for Best Doctors, Best Nurses, Best Quality and Best Reputation, according to independent research conducted by National Research Corporation.
Josh Nahum First Place Award for Achievement in Infection Prevention and Control (2007) from the Georgia Hospital Association (GHA) for achieving a zero percent deep sternal wound infection rate.
Georgia Hospital Association's Circle of Excellence Award (2007 & 2008), recognizing hospitals that have consistently shown leadership in quality and patient safety.
Quality and Patient Safety Award (2008) from the Partnership for Health and Accountability.
