Skid Row Housing Trust

Company History

Skid Row Housing Trust (the “Trust”) is a nationally recognized and innovative non-profit organization that develops new permanent supportive housing opportunities in downtown Los Angeles and greater LA. Incorporated in 1989 to preserve the remaining single-room-occupancy (SRO) hotels in Los Angeles' Skid Row, the Trust renovates, builds and maintains supportive housing apartments to address the unmet housing needs for very low income, homeless, and disabled persons and a variety of special needs populations.

The Trust also provides comprehensive supportive services in conjunction with its community partners, such as mental health, substance abuse counseling and physical health programs for over 1,600 men and women living across 25 high-quality, beautiful building sites in downtown. In addition, the Trust has multiple Shelter + Care and Section 8 contracts, which help sustain and support its population in their effort to achieve housing stability, safety and wellness through a community-driven supportive housing environment.
