Company Profile

Schrödinger

Company Overview

Our mission: To improve human health and quality of life by transforming the way therapeutics and materials are discovered.

With steadfast investment in R&D, we continue to develop and refine our physics-based molecular simulation software. Our chemical design and informatics platforms are deployed by users worldwide to enable the discovery of novel therapeutics and materials more rapidly, at a lower cost, and with a higher likelihood of success. It's also the foundation of our internal drug discovery initiatives to develop first-in-class therapies.

Company History

Founded in 1990 by Rich Friesner and Bill Goddard, Schrödinger has spent thirty years developing and refining our computational platform. We made our first sale to Brookhaven National Laboratory in 1992, and in 1995 we received our first investment from David Shaw. Bill Gates followed suit in 2010, after the creation of Glide, Prime, and WaterMap. Over the following ten years, we launched the Materials Science division, released LiveDesign and FEP+, and collaborated with Agios, SPARC, Sanofi, and Takeda. We made our IPO in February of 2020.
