The Orthopaedic Clinic of Daytona Beach is a well-respected practice that was established in 1961 and has a rich history of providing exceptional Orthopaedic care to the community. We currently have nine Orthopaedic Surgeons, nine Mid-Level Providers, and a Physical Therapy team who serve patients at four locations within Volusia and Flagler counties.
Company History
The Orthopaedic Clinic of Daytona Beach was founded in 1961 by Dr. Thurman Gillespy
Jr. When the doors opened in 1961, he was the very first orthopedic surgeon in the community.
Within the first three years in practice, the clinic expanded to a team of four orthopedic surgeons. The surgeons took a nontraditional stance on how they would practice orthopedic medicine. They believed not in treating the illness, but in treating the individual patient, taking their lifestyle and health goals into account before recommending a treatment plan.
Fifty-five years later, the Orthopaedic Clinic of Daytona Beach still follows in their
founder’s footsteps. With nine board certified orthopedic surgeons, including two of
Dr. Gillespy’s sons, thousands of patients across the East Coast of Florida, and four
convenient locations throughout Volusia and Flagler counties, their mission continues to
be providing quality, cost-effective healthcare to their community, one patient at a time.
