Client Coverage Assistant Vice President Bioscience Desk Job Summary: The primary responsibilities of the Assistant Vice President for the Bioscience Desk are as follows: i. Focusing on the retention of New York City bioscience companies and on the development of the New York City bioscience community; ii. Playing a key role in the development of a bioscience real estate strategy for New York City. Please note that while interest in the bioscience industry is important, this position is focused in large part on real estate and other location issues for the sector. Key Responsibilities:  Meet with NYC-based bioscience companies to understand their needs and the key factors driving their location decisions  Represent the bioscience desk on the team developing NYC?s bioscience real estate strategy and play a coordinating role in the development of that strategy  Work with other NYCEDC groups on logistical, funding and incentive issues in connection with attracting bioscience tenants to certain NYC properties  Participate in the implementation of the bioscience desk?s marketing and PR strategy, including the development of content for the bioscience section of the NYCEDC website and the creation of bioscience-related events  Play a role in the targeting and attraction of bioscience tenants to NYC Qualifications: ? College degree required; advanced degree strongly preferred (ideally JD or MBA) ? 5 years minimum experience ? Consulting, legal or real estate background desirable ? Strong analytical skills ? Strong demonstrated written and oral communication and presentation skills ? Project management experience, including the ability to facilitate a smooth working relationship among groups of people within and outside NYCEDC ? Enterprising and resourceful, organized and results-oriented ? Energetic, proactive, collaborative and strategically oriented ? Ability to prioritize amongst competing needs and opportunities ? A general interest in economic development issues ? Understanding of federal, State and City government desirable ? Interest in the bioscience industry ?
