Company Overview
KaMMCO Health Solutions, Inc. (KHS) was formed by parent-company KaMMCO (Kansas Medical Mutual Insurance Company), in June 2014. KaMMCO, while achieving the 25 year milestone of providing insurance and risk management services as well as unrelenting advocacy for the health care professionals in Kansas, believed it must evolve in order to face the many challenges and opportunities presented by today’s complex health care delivery system and finance models. As part of this far-reaching vision, the KaMMCO Board of Directors empowered staff to proceed with the formation of two new subsidiary companies; KaMMCO Health Solutions, Inc. and KaMMCO Casualty, Inc. The new business units will expand KaMMCO’s current business profile by offering expertise to parties interested in health information exchange (HIE) infrastructure development and data analytics services as well as lines of insurance beyond medical professional liability insurance.
KHS partners with health care providers, integrated delivery networks, independent practice associations, accountable care organizations, health plans, and others who face the challenges of the new healthcare marketplace and value-based payment structures. The HIE and data analytics division is led by Senior Vice President, Laura McCrary, Ed.D. Dr. McCrary also serves as Executive Director of the Kansas Health Information Network (KHIN). KHIN is renowned as one of the largest, most successful HIEs in the country.
KHS is an organization with a board comprised of physician and hospital leaders. This provider-led approach, combined with the expertise and experience of Dr. McCrary and her staff, positions KHS to serve as a guiding influence for organizations who seek a partner in the planning and building of the infrastructure necessary for a sustainable HIE. The healthcare interoperability partner also offers analytic reporting services required for clinical integration, care coordination, quality reporting, and value-based payment structures.
