Company History

Extraordinary success in airport and transportation retail doesn’t happen overnight.

Incorporated in 1926, Hudson News Company first began distributing newspapers in 1918 as the Bayonne News Company. Since then it has become one of North America’s largest independent wholesalers of periodicals and books.

In 1987, Hudson Group Retail Division was formed to fulfill the concession needs of the transportation industry by creating and operating newsstands,
bookstores, gift shops and specialty stores in major airports and terminals throughout the U.S. and Canada.

To this day, we understand the importance of structuring our business around reading materials, the core desire of traveling customers, and continue to evolve and expand that base with a variety of additional products and retail concepts.

The combination of our unrivaled expertise in media-based retailing with our distinct portfolio of specialty store concepts has become the hallmark that distinguishes us from competitors.
