The Frac Shack™ is a unique, patented frac fuel delivery system which is designed to significantly reduce the dangers of hot fuelling during continuous fracs by removing workers from the hot zone.
The Frac Shack™ eliminates atmospheric fuel spraying on the frac pad, while ensuring environmental protection during the hot fuelling process. Since introducing the Frac Shack™, customers using this technology have reported a significant reduction in non-productive time and the elimination of refuelling stress. Also, reducing the number of employees to manage refuelling during frac operations.
With the Frac Shack™, existing intake systems require no retro fitting. The plug-and-play design replaces the fuel cap and controls all aspects of refuelling the pumper systems
Company History
About 10 years ago, Todd Van Vliet, CEO, paid a visit to a well pad in
the far northeast corner of British Columbia. He went to witness a hydraulic fracturing
operation in process, but he wasn’t extremely happy about what he saw.
“They said quite proudly that they had the second most dangerous job on the pad”,
he continued. “And I was rather dumbfounded by that. And I asked them to explain.”
And they said, “Well, what we have to do in order to fuel these pumpers is we have to go in
there.” And they pointed down between a line of pumpers where the fuel tanks are for
these frack pumpers. “And when I learned those things, I realized that we had to find a
better way for the guys to do that job.”
That set the wheels in motion for a plan to develop a safe and efficient refueling
system that would eventually be known as the Frac Shack.
