Company History
Welcome to the City of Lewisville, Texas!
On behalf of the 130,000 people who call Lewisville their home, I want to welcome you to our city. Lewisville is proud of its rural Texas heritage. The first settlers came to this area before the Civil War, and some of their first buildings were churches and schools because they weren't building a place to live for the short term, they were building a home for generations.
The same pioneer spirit and family values thrive today in Lewisville, a place where families enjoy a high quality of life and business is booming. Lewisville is a vibrant and growing community of the 21st century, with major employers and thriving retail outlets that combine to create a strong economic framework for our residents and a quality family-friendly experience for our visitors.
Lewisville has many opportunities that make this such a great place to live, work and play. Many of those are detailed in the comprehensive Lewisville 2025 vision plan that was developed by residents and then adopted by City Council in July 2014. This plan was updated in 2021 and remains a core part of budgeting and project planning for all city departments. You can learn more at cityoflewisville.com/Lewisville2025.
