The Beacon Mutual Insurance Company is the premier writer of workers' compensation insurance in the State of Rhode Island. Chartered by the state in 1990, we are a mutual workers' compensation insurance carrier with over 12,000 policyholders and 60% of the Rhode Island workers' compensation market - serving both the competitive and residual markets. We are financially secure, with approximately $400 million in admitted assets and we return excess surplus to our policyholders in the form of lower premiums and/or dividends
