The evolution from humble beginnings in 1971 as a fledgling service with two ambulances and eight medics into the largest private ambulance service in the nation continually reminds us of our underlying dedication and passion for serving others with the care and dignity they deserve. Our advanced capabilities and vast resources provide the highest possible level of pre-hospital emergency care and disaster response to metropolitan areas and the most remote swamps and offshore facilities in the open Gulf. We are proud to serve more than half of Louisiana along with areas in Texas and Mississippi with the same quality of protection expected in America's largest cities. The tough standards we meet for accreditation are important for providing the best possible patient care. This voluntary process signifies that we have met the “gold standard” determined by the ambulance industry to be essential in our operations and relationships with other agencies, the general public, and the medical community.

While the company's history is rooted in ground and air ambulance service, we credit our subsidiary divisions for much of our continued success and diversity. Safety Management Systems, Acadian Monitoring Services, the National EMS Academy, and Executive Air Charter all work to improve the health and lives of others, making Acadian a world-class service provider.
