Job Summary

The Vice President, Human Resources will develops and direct Human Resources and Training programs to recruit, hire, support, mentor and develop Advancial employees. The candidate chosen for this position will oversee the administration of all payroll, benefits, wellness, recruitment and employee relations functions. The Vice President, Human Resources will be responsible for ensuring positive relationships with branches, internal departments and external partners, and for fostering a positive culture throughout the organization.

Requirements

Scope of Responsibilities:

 

  • Translating the organization’s strategic and tactical business plans into HR strategic and operational plans.

 

  • Overseeing the daily operations of the Human Resources Department including training, recruitment; rewards, recognition, compensation, benefits, Human Resources information systems, payroll and employee health and wellness.  

 

  • Overseeing the organization’s employee training, education and development programs as required by need per department.

 

  • Managing the annual compensation budgeting process and the group insurance renewal/bid process.

 

  • Identifying Human Resources strategies to develop and maintain a progressive work culture in support of effective recruitment, employee development, and retention of a high-performing workforce.

 

  • Continually assessing the competitiveness of all programs and practices against the relevant comparable companies, industries and markets. 

 

  • Managing federally mandated programs (e.g. FMLA, ADA, Affirmative Action, equal opportunity, etc.) in compliance with applicable regulations while maintaining communication with managers regarding proper implementation of such regulations.

 

  • Maintaining knowledge of HR policies, programs, laws and issues as well as providing technical advice and knowledge to others within the human resources department.

 

  • Hiring, directing, evaluating and mentoring immediate staff as well as directly mentoring and coaching other employees as needed.

 

  • Tracking Human Resources metrics and provides regular updates to stakeholders in order to help make decisions, improve efficiency or aid in strategic development.

 

  • Coaching managers in setting employee goals and expectations that are measurable, attainable and in-line with the objectives and direction of the organization.

 

  • Responding, directly or through staff, to employee relations issues such as employee complaints, grievances, disputes, harassment allegations and health & safety issues.

 

  • Maintaining a positive and caring atmosphere for members and employees consistent with the Credit Union's mission and philosophy.

 

Required Qualifications:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university.

 

  • Minimum four (4) years’ experience including one year of management experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

 

  • Goal-oriented; extremely organized; and motivated.

 

  • Exceptional writing/editing skills with high standard of quality.

 

  • Detail-oriented.

 

  • Outside-the-box thinker - thrives on finding a better way!

 

  • Collaborative mentality to gain feedback from others and develop compromises when necessary.

 

  • Exceptional interpersonal and team working skills.

 

  • Strong organizational skills and ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.

 

Desired Qualifications: 

 

  • SPHR or SHRM-SCP Certification.
