Globecomm is looking for a Human Resources Generalist to support daily HR operations for a temporary assignment (5-7 months). As a self-driven and personable HR professional, you will have the opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment, where no day is the same, with a team that drives corporate initiatives. You will assist primarily with benefits and recruitment, as well as employee relations, and the development, coordination, and implementation of HR services, policies, and programs. You will work closely with the Senior Vice President and other HR team members to provide the highest level of professional support to our organization.

  • Ensure overall compliance of benefits administration and assist employees with resolving benefits related issues. Advise employees on leave, insurance, and disability processes and policies, and liaise between employee and insurance broker and/or benefit provider.
  • Work with HR Administrator to ensure that benefit invoices are processed correctly on a monthly basis. Reconcile monthly billing statements from insurance carriers against payroll deductions with HR Administrator. 
  • Conduct full life-cycle recruitment for assigned requisitions, including sourcing and screening candidates, conducting and organizing the interview process, negotiating job offers, and preparing employment offer letters. 
  • Maintain all pertinent applicant and interview data in a consistent manner and in accordance with the company’s affirmative action recruitment plan, within the Applicant Tracking System (ATS). 
  • Assist with the new hire orientation which includes preparing paperwork, e-Verify, initiating background investigations and drug testing.
  • Assist SVP with employee relation matters, by providing advice and recommendations, and meeting with employees as needed.
  • Manage disability and/or Workers’ Compensation activities including completion of paperwork, contact with insurance carriers, proper recordkeeping, and liaising between employee and insurance carrier, when appropriate. 
  • Assist SVP with visa processing for sponsored employees.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by SVP.


Requirements

  • Associate’s or Bachelor's Degree in Business Management, Human Resources, Communications, or a related field.
  • 3-5 years of experience in Human Resources or combination of education and experience. 
  • Experience with Affirmative Action recruitment reporting and guidelines. 
  • Working knowledge of applicant tracking systems; iCims a plus. 
  • Extremely proficient in Microsoft Office environment including Outlook (email/calendar), Word, SharePoint, Visio, and Excel. 
  • Knowledge of federal, state, and local laws.
  • High attention to detail and ability to proofread. 
  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality. 
  • Ability to prioritize workload.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. 
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills. 
  • Ability to effectively communicate with global employees at all levels.
  • Ability to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner.
