The Human Resources Directorate oversees scientific and non-scientific recruitment, benefits, labor relations, staff development, salaries and awards, employee records, and occupational medicine. The Human Resources Directorate currently has a full-time opportunity for a Technical Recruiter.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

  • As a highly seasoned senior level recruiter, will partner with hiring managers and Human Resources Managers within the Laboratory’s human resources deployed model. 
  • Actively handles a high volume and full life-cycle recruitment including working with Laboratory hiring managers to develop customized recruiting strategies and successful execution of their plans; writes quality job descriptions pursuant to BNL’s classification standards; sources both active and passive job seekers from a variety of channels including cold calling, internet searches, and networking to develop a pipeline of qualified, diverse candidates; and interview, select and close all types and levels of openings.
  • Will develop, nurture and maintain strong partnerships by delivering on commitments and demonstrating distinguished level of customer service on all recruitment assignments. 
  • Successfully develop a wide and extensive internal and external network of contacts within the local, national and research and development job markets.
  • Regularly communicates and negotiates on job offers, influencing hiring managers and candidates to the conclusion of the hire.  When discussing offers, including sensitive compensation issues, consistently exercises a high degree of initiative and professional judgment, resolving issues independently within their authority.
  • As a seasoned recruiter, will continuously refine and improve processes, discern potential trends and issues early on, create solutions and strategies to overcome obstacles, and demonstrate a natural ability to balance the needs of the hiring manager with the organizational policies and legal requirements.
  • Regularly partners as an internal consultant to educate senior leadership as well as employees on process, procedure and best practices.
  • May lead special assignments and projects targeted at delivering process improvements to the applicant tracking system to enhance its effectiveness, to achieving diversity goals and initiatives, to define and develop advanced reports and metrics, etc.
  • May be responsible for duties directly related to assisting the Human Resources Managers in a variety of areas such as investigations, special HR studies and projects. 
  • Develops and delivers presentations to groups, maintains records and documentation and participates in audits.
  • Attend local and national job fairs.

Requirements

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business or related field with a minimum of ten (10) years full-cycle recruitment experience which must include the recruitment of diverse R&D talent such as scientific, engineering, information technology and other technical staff.
  • Demonstrated expertise in the creation of diverse, highly qualified applicant pools while exercising cutting-edge inclusive behaviors and techniques.
  • Experience with developing web-based recruitment strategies, social media and marketing strategies and applicant tracking databases.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills including the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of staff where diplomacy skills are paramount.
  • Strong work planning, time‐management, organization, and prioritization skills are essential while handling competing priorities, often under pressure to fill jobs and close them successfully.
  • Advanced proficiency in MicroSoft Office including MS Word, Outlook, PowerPoint and Excel.

Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Master’s degree in a related field.

  • Experience in diversity and EEO field.

  • Experience working with current OFCCP compliance requirements a significant plus.

  • Advanced understanding and experience working in a deployed Human Resources business model.

  • Knowledge of PeopleSoft and PeopleFluent highly desirable.

  • SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP Preferred

  • Demonstrated ability to lead projects and mentor staff.

    Other Information:

    Some domestic travel required.
