Mecklenburg County is seeking a Talent Acquisition Consultant whose focus will be full cycle recruitment. The ideal candidate will have an understanding, and experience in, other areas of HR including: employee relations, performance management, classification and compensation, and benefits administration.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Interpret and explain human resources policies, procedures, laws, standards, or regulations.  
  • Provide consultation and guidance to employees, and management, related to Talent Acquisition.
  • Build collaborative partnerships with Hiring Managers and other key stakeholders while providing a high level of customer service.
  • Develop and implement recruiting strategies.
  • Recruit talent through multiple platforms including LinkedIn and resume databases.
  • Manage full cycle recruiting process including: reviewing job requirements; posting jobs in PeopleSoft and other platforms/recruiting sites; screening  employment applications; identifying qualified candidates for presentation to hiring managers, consulting with hiring managers to develop effective interview guides, extending employment offers and manage negotiations, partner to provide guidance and consultative services throughout the onboarding process.
  • Advise candidates of essential job duties, total compensation and benefits, and other related items.  



Experience: Three years HR Generalist or progressively responsible experience in the various HR functions; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Depending on area of assignment, candidates need to be versed in employment law, performance management systems, compensation and/or benefits.

Education: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Public Administration or Human Resources.

Equivalent Experience for Education Accepted? Yes

Licenses and Certifications: North Carolina or South Carolina Driver’s License. Must be able to obtain and maintain a County Operator’s Permit.

• Current PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SCP certification.
• Experience using PeopleSoft software and LinkedIn Recruiter preferred.
