This role is responsible for providing HR support, partnership, and consultation within corporate functions (Finance, Information Technology, Legal & EHS and Human Resources). Collaborates and partners strategically in a variety of HR areas including recruiting, selection, onboarding, staffing, career development and personal development, employment and personnel documentation, job evaluation, compensation, and benefits. The role provides policy leadership across the organization and leads employee engagement initiatives within the Spokane corporate office. This position is both strategic and action-oriented, influencing the direction of corporate functions with a commitment to continuous improvement.
Human Resources Partnership
- Build strong relationship with leadership of the corporate functions to advise, coach, and assist in all people-related activities. Understands the business and core work of the corporate functions to effectively partner
- Act as employee champion within client groups, being readily accessible to provide advice and counsel
- Champion employee engagement action plans in response to engagement survey; proactively develop and monitor employee engagement action plans and key indicators of employee engagement (i.e. turnover, internal movement, etc)
- Collaborate with assigned client groups for the development and execution of performance management, career and individual development as well as positive employee relations strategies consistent with company core values; comply with legal requirements and promote positive employee relations
- Coordinate and monitor all compensation, benefit, talent systems and practices to ensure consistent application within corporate guidelines in a firm, fair and consistent manner
- Provide proactive guidance and counsel to business on employee relations matters; coordinating legal activity with Corporate Legal and outside counsel
HR Expertise
- Develop deep expertise in HR systems and processes. Acts as subject matter expert in key technical HR areas. Guides and trains others in the effective use of tools and systems
- Partner with corporate functional leadership and HR specialists to execute HR processes such as benefits enrolment, performance management, talent planning, and annual compliance activities
- Identifies opportunities to improve processes and systems and leads initiatives to execute improvements
- Manage employee lifecycle from onboarding to termination
Organizational Effectiveness and Change Management
- Actively engage with Talent Acquisition Partners, department managers, and hiring managers to ensure TA and onboarding processes for Spokane-based teams (local and remote) and KPIs are meeting expectations of the organization; collaborate with Talent Acquisition Partners on strategy to develop diverse talent pipelines to meet both short- and medium-term needs across the organization
- Partner with client facing leadership team in the execution of talent planning programs ranging from succession planning, pipeline and career progression development and development action planning; align supporting development resources as needed
- Collaborate with assigned client groups to optimize organization design to achieve business objectives through quality and customer service
- Identify learning and growth opportunities within client groups and work with organizational development resources to ensure continual growth and development of talent
- Act as change management partner to client groups

Education/Experience:
Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Organization Development, Psychology or related field required
Advanced degree preferred
5+ years of experience in performing wide range of HR generalist duties
Manufacturing experience, labor experience, and work in a non-union environment is preferred
SHRM- CP/SCP or PHR preferred but not required
Experience in working with vendors desired, but not required
Experience in a manufacturing organization is preferred

Must have a solid understanding of the business and the environment they operate in
Demonstrated understanding of employment law
Strong verbal and written communication skills and ability to effectively communicate with all levels of employees

Intermediate skill level in the use of MS Office: Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint
Experience with HRIS systems (Time & Attendance, LMS, ATS etc) preferred
