Reporting to the Human Resources Director in the Atlanta headquarters, the primary mission of the Senior Human Resources Generalist is to apply general business knowledge and human resources expertise in support of Kimco Facility Services, LLC (“the Company”) and its multi-state employee base.  This position will play a key role in the success of the Company by offering guidance on onboarding, performance management, terminations, employee relations, and HR best practices while facilitating a positive relationship between employees and management.


  • Implement and administer the Company’s employment policies, while identifying potential ways to improve policies based on observation and experience.
  • Provide high quality advice and service to management on daily employee relations and performance management issues.
  • Support the HR Department in implementing programs and initiatives to continuously improve the employee experience.
  • Focus on areas of higher than normal employee turnover to diagnose issues and present suggested solutions.
  • Partner with operations management to ensure that the progressive discipline process is appropriately followed, reviewing documentation in advance (particularly for demotion or termination events) to ensure that the employee is being treated fairly while minimizing the risk of potential labor claims.
  • Serve as the subject matter expert for management, particularly as relates to Company policy and compliance with federal, state and local labor laws.
  • Exercise good judgement by escalating matters to the Human Resources Director as needed, particularly those matters that carry potential risk.
  • Conduct confidential workplace investigations, while documenting evidence and summary notes for the confidential file.
  • Practice record retention protocols that comply with Company policy and labor laws.
  • Conduct training sessions for operations management staff as required.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Working Conditions:

Work is performed in a general office environment. Repetitive bending and stooping with occasional lifting of up to 20 lbs. is required. Repetitive finger/hand/forearm motion necessary for completing data entry. Ability to manipulate keyboards, telephone keypads and copy equipment essential. Talking and listening required for answering telephones and conversing personally with the public and staff. Manual dexterity required for accessing filing cabinets in various locations.       



Must be authorized to work in the United States.

Work Experience:                       5+ years as a generalist in the Human Resources field. Experience working in an environment with a high volume of hourly paid employees, a multi-state workforce, and some collective bargaining agreements a plus. Some HR management experience a plus.


Education:                                       Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources Management or related discipline.

Certifications:                               Active SHRM-CP and/or PHR strongly preferred


  • Strong computer skills. Experience with Microsoft Office programs, including Excel.
  • Experience using and running reports out of an HRIS system; experience with ADP platforms (e.g., Vantage) a plus.
  • Comprehensive understanding of HR best practices and current regulations as apply to a multi-state environment, with a commitment to continuing education.
  • Knowledge of state and federal employment law, including HR technical knowledge of EEO, AA, FLSA, FMLA, ADA, unemployment and worker’s compensation.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish a plus.

Classification:                                Full-time, Exempt

Supervision:                                   None

Travel:                                               Regular local travel to customer sites for employee interaction, with up to 25% travel beyond the local area.
