This exciting opportunity for an experienced, global Total Rewards professional provides an opening to create strategy that will enable rapid growth while driving organizational high-performance, solid business results, and shareholder value. This leader will bring their unique perspective coupled with intelligence, boundless energy and a natural allure to rapid, yet informed change to drive our collective success.

In this newly developed position, the Senior Director, Total Rewards will create an integrated global Total Rewards vision and strategy in support of the business strategy and operational growth plans. Additionally, the successful candidate will expand the Total Rewards function over time while partnering day-to-day with employees, managers, team members and senior leaders to attract, retain and engage the “Blue Crew”. This role also has a unique opportunity to be on the ground floor of broader HR strategic initiatives as we embark on the next chapter of the Blueprint Medicines story.

Responsibilities:

  • Guided by company strategy and functional business objectives, assess ongoing competitiveness and consequently design and implement (oversight or hands-on) meaningful solutions, impacting results of the core business, in the areas of:  Compensation, Benefits, Rewards & Recognition, Wellness, Performance Management, Board support.
  • Partner with senior leadership to inform sales and other field-based compensation programs to ensure appropriateness and alignment with broader company compensation philosophy.
  • Ownership of the communication strategies for total rewards programs which will creatively and effectively attract and retain key talent, enabling the organization to meet key priorities and the needs of the business.
  • Ability to set a path forward and be a visible, internal consultative compensation, benefits and rewards expert and advisor who further drives the strategic value of our total rewards. As a SME, build awareness and education programs for employees at all levels in all areas of Total Rewards to ensure an understanding of their collective value.
  • Flex your analytical capabilities to ensure accurate forecasts and actual calculation of expenditures/value in compensation, benefits, recognition, wellness and equity programs in collaboration with Talent Acquisition and Finance for budget planning and effective talent-based decision making. Ensure data integrity.
  • Be an active leader and member of the HR leadership team driving towards common goals and an inclusive culture that nurtures our individuality while contributing to the collective strength of the team.
  • Provide leadership through senior leaders on the Total Rewards team to manage a diverse set of programs and activities and positively impact the professional growth of both direct and indirect members of the HR team and beyond.
  • Understanding the importance of working with balance, partner with Total Reward team and organizational leaders to drive our cultural commitment to wellness.
  • Be an external thought leader on current Total Rewards market practices and future trends in a manner which enhances Blueprint’s brand awareness.
  • Partner with HR leadership and external executive compensation consultants on the design, development and recommendations for the Compensation Committee.
  • Ensure all practices are compliant with all governmental regulations.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of a bachelor’s Degree
  • Minimum twelve years of experience in Total Rewards with significant demonstrated success building and launching a spectrum of broad-based, innovative total rewards programs
  • Strongly prefer eight plus years in fully-integrated life sciences and/or technology companies that have experienced rapid growth and had high performing cultures
  • In-depth understanding of executive compensation design, administration and governance globally in biotech/pharma
  • Compensation and/or benefits certifications a plus

  • Ability to grasp and implement new concepts in a timely fashion leveraging excellent time/project management skills.

Working Conditions:

  • Office environment
  • Up to 10% travel (including international)
