Summary of Responsibilities

The Sr. Human Resources Director is responsible for shaping the future direction of Global HR initiatives while ensuring operational excellence of daily functions of the HR department. This role serves as an advisor, coach, and thought leader on all aspects related to people and culture, building on foundational practices and policies while overseeing people functions including employee relations, performance management, and career development. The Sr. Director manages two direct reports; a Sr. HR Generalist and a HR Coordinator.

Essential Functions

  • Lead core HR processes and drive key initiatives across all people operations and HR strategy.
  • Design and cultivate an excellent full cycle employee experience in line with our values to continuously improve our collaborative and inclusive culture.
  • Serve as a strategic partner to the leadership team; advise on organization design, change management, and how to best sustain an inclusive culture in an effort to be a model workplace.
  • Create and implement talent initiatives to achieve strategic organizational goals and accelerate mission impact.
  • Recommend and implement performance management strategy and process to ensure Catalyst stays competitive in the market to retain and develop its talent.
  • Ensure that Catalyst is ahead of evolving D&I practices and in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations for a global workplace.
  • Oversee compensation structure, payroll, benefits, and related expense management in partnership with the CFO; create annual budgets, extrapolations, and monthly reports for tracking.
  • Lead an effective and respected HR Department; ensure that the team is proactive, responsive, helpful, anticipatory, with a focus on customer service.

Knowledge and Skills

  • HR expert with a track record of tailoring people process to drive business results and achieve organizational goals.
  • Willing and able to seamlessly navigate between the tactical, administrative, and strategic levels of work this role demands.
  • Advanced knowledge of HR policies, procedures, best practices, and employment law for a global workplace.
  • Natural relationship builder, with ability to win trust easily and influence decisions at all levels.
  • Demonstrated leader with ability to teach, mentor, inspire, develop & empower their team and serves as a role model while coaching other leaders.
  • High emotional IQ; empathetic and conscientious.
  • Ability to operate with seasoned judgement, demonstrated poise, maturity, and inclusive leadership in all aspects of employee relations.
  • Strong communication skills, written and verbal, for situations ranging from recruitment, to sharing complex information, to handling tough conversations with the utmost discretion.
  • Ability to present facts and recommendations effectively by building consensus and gaining buy-in from key stakeholders.
  • A pragmatic problem solver with comfort in moving quickly as decisions are made.
  • Proactive with a natural drive to take initiative with a focus on the company’s strategy.
  • Impeccable attention to detail and advanced excel, HRIS, and budget management skills.

Requirements

Education and Experience Requirements

This position requires a bachelor’s degree, master’s degree preferred, and 7-10 years of broad-based human resources experience. Strong generalist experience required with deep knowledge of core HR functions. Must have experience managing a team and working within a global, collaborative, and highly virtual business environment is preferred. HR certification is a plus.
