POSITION EXPECTATION

The Senior Vice President (SVP) of People and Possibilities will be responsible for leading dynamic change across the organization and executing successful human resources programs. The SVP will also have responsibility for helping align organizational performance to business outcomes.

EXAMPLES OF DUTIES
• Executive Leadership: Serves as the executive leader for the People & Possibilities department for the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority, driving consistent excellence in all facets of human resources management.

• Talent Management: Develops innovative, successful strategies and tactics to attract, retain, and develop top-level organizational talent.

• Culture Development: Serves in the lead role of shaping the LVCVA's company culture, ensuring that values are understood and lived across the organization.

• Diversity and Inclusion: Develops strategies and practices to attract and support a diverse and inclusive workforce that understands, accepts, and values differences between people and that is collaborative, supportive, and respectful to maximize participation and contributions of ambassadors.

• Compensation Systems: Develops and implements highly organized and informed policies and programs for market appropriate compensation and benefit programs.

• Change Management: Provides recommendation to leadership and steers efforts to support organizational initiatives and manage change.

• Organizational and Performance Management: Develops and administers meaningful programs to measure and manage organizational and employee performance.

• Labor Relations: Represents the LVCVA, and serves as a key leader, during collective bargaining negotiations. Administers the collective bargaining agreement. Serves as key liaison with Legal Counsel on labor issues.

• Succession Planning: Oversees a strategic, forward-looking succession plan for key organizational talent.

Requirements

EDUCATION AND SKILLS
• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration or related disciplines required, Masters of Science or Masters of Business Administration degree is highly desirable
• 10 or more years of progressive HR experience with 5 or more years of HR leadership in organizations known for ambassador engagement and operational excellence
• Thorough knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws, wage and hour laws, and regulations
• Demonstrated success in talent acquisition and development
• Expertise in compensation strategies and systems
• Experience in a unionized environment and strong experience in labor relations
• Ability to work with internal and external stakeholders to proactively address issues likely to impact LVCVA
• Experience designing and delivering innovative solutions as they relate to wellness, retention, succession planning, and performance management programs
• Possess integrity, ethics, professional credibility, and accountability
• Model highly-refined skills in critical thinking, analysis, problem solving, risk assessment and prevention, communication, and leadership influence
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to travel when necessary (light travel requirements)

CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES/REGISTRATIONS
Must have a valid Nevada driver’s license at time of appointment and must maintain during course of employment. Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. passport.
