  • Serves as a trusted advisor and business partner to the credit union and executive team.
  • Acts as counselor, coach and strategic advisor to SVP and executive team on all human capital matters and their impact on strategic and cultural objectives for the business.
  • Operates as a senior business leader with insights and contributions to the credit union’s overall strategy, priorities and future direction.
  • Is the champion and example of hiring the right top talent, retaining and developing employees.
  • Assesses builds and leads a high performing, innovative human resources and talent development function that supports and serves the organization.
  • Maintains current knowledge and understanding of regulations, industry trends, current practices, new developments, and applicable laws regarding human resources.
  • Leads the full range of human capital functions including organizational design and effectiveness, merger & acquisition integration management, talent acquisition, learning and development, performance management, employee relations, vendor management, compensation & benefits, HR information systems, internal communications and succession management.
  • Champions a “learning culture” which ensures continuous learning and development opportunities for employees.
  • Leads, creates and facilitates efforts across the entire spectrum of talent development: strategic workforce planning, learning and development, leadership planning, executive development, inclusion and diversity, employee engagement and retention as well as organizational design and effectiveness.
  • Creates an integrated talent management and development strategy, aligned to the company's business strategies and growth model. Leads the execution of this strategy across the organization, in partnership with all business and HR leaders.
  • Stewardship for the design, execution and maintenance of a premier onboarding program that includes every facet of the employee and manager experience. Comprehensive program design will support new hires, internal moves, and promotions.
  • Partners with the development, distribution and analysis of employee engagement surveys, including formation of survey objectives, implementation of the survey process, and analysis and presentation of survey results.
  • Analyzes talent metrics, including employee engagement, performance, turnover and other data to identify trends and recommend strategies and actions.
  • Oversees the development, implementation, and maintenance of the total compensation philosophy and programs.
  • Works with the Board of Director’s Compensation Committee.
  • Develops HRIS capability to streamline processes and provide critical data for development of HR strategy.
  • Acts as steward for the company culture by recognizing, articulating, and shaping the need for change with a data-driven approach.
  • Champions Mountain America’s culture and core values to promote exceptional business performance.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Ten to fifteen years of similar or related experience. Five plus years at a senior management or executive level role in a company similar or larger in size where responsibilities included: functional and strategic aspects of human resources; department staff assessment, management, and leadership and organizational development.



Four-year college degree in Human Resource Management or other related field. MBA or other appropriate graduate degree preferred.


Licenses, Certificates, Registrations

SPHR preferred


Computer/Office Equipment Skills

Intermediate to Advanced skills in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint and Excel)


Managerial Responsibility

Direct or through other managers, typically with a subordinate group of over 20 employees. Estimates employee needs and assigns work to meet these needs. Supervises, coordinates and reviews the work of assigned management and staff. Recommends candidates for employment, conducts performance reviews and salary changes for assigned staff, and applies company policy and practices. Develops direct reports and ensures direct reports are developing their staff as well.
