Position Title: Senior Recruiting Specialist

Location: Baltimore, MD

RK&K is seeking an experienced and strong Senior Recruiting Specialist to ensure we continue to attract and hire the most qualified people to support our firm’s growth.

We are located near the Inner Harbor in the Candler Building which has a newly renovated dining area and other amenities.



Working in our Baltimore headquarters and reporting to the Human Resources and Career and Leadership Program Managers, this individual will help lead RK&K’s recruiting team by working on company-wide initiatives and supervising day-to-day recruiting activities. This person will also actively recruit candidates with a concentration on our senior and more specialized openings.

Essential Functions

  • Actively source, attract and hire candidates who will support our commitment to excellence and our culture of continuous innovation
  • Provide day-to-day oversight for the Recruiting Team and recruiting efforts
  • Coach, train and mentor members of the Recruiting Team
  • Conduct recruitment efforts for exempt and nonexempt personnel and temporary employees, from creating job descriptions and placing advertisements through interviewing and selection
  • Collaborate with Senior Leadership and Hiring Managers to develop hiring goals and strategies; establish and cultivate strong working relationships to enhance recruitment efforts
  • Perform candidate screening/phone screening, background checks and license verifications
  • Prepare offer letters and coordinate with management regarding salary, job title, home office location and department
  • Maintain Human Resources Information System records and compile reports from database
  • Maintain compliance with federal and state regulations concerning employment
  • Enhance department and organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests, exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments
  • Conduct Exit Interviews
  • Administrative duties, such as filing, mailings, monthly reports, and other various HR tasks
  • Represent RK&K at career fairs and trade shows


Required Education, Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent practical experience
  • Strong record of developing and executing recruiting strategies
  • Experience leading recruiting teams
  • Record of successfully recruiting for senior positions
  • Confidence and the ability to influence senior leaders and other key stakeholders
  • General knowledge of various employment laws and practices
  • Strong passion for Customer Service
  • Enthusiastic team player with a strong
  • Effective oral and written communication skills; excellent interpersonal skills
  • Skills in database management and record keeping
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and integrity in all aspects of this role
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Ability to gather and analyze information skillfully

Preferred Skills and Experience

  • Recruiting Experience in Civil Engineering, Construction, and/or Environmental Sciences
  • Experience using ADP Workforce Now and ADP Workforce Now Recruiting Module (or similar software-based recruiting/application system.)

Work Environment This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, printers, filing cabinets and fax machines. May lift or move banker boxes, paper, books, and office equipment up to twenty-five pounds.

Physical Demands

This is largely a sedentary role; however, some filing is required. This would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand as necessary.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to type, file or lift office supplies up to twenty-five pounds. The employee is frequently required to stand, talk and listen.
