Job Description

Under the direction of the Payroll Director, this position will play a vital role in ensuring the accurate and timely processing of weekly payrolls for Inter-Con’s U.S. domestic operations. Specifically, the Senior Payroll Analyst will perform audits and detailed reviews of payroll data and assist in the processing of payroll. The Senior Payroll Analyst must be an energetic individual with a strong focus on customer service, excellent communication skills, and the ability to multi-task. The successful candidate must possess in-depth knowledge of common pay-and-benefits concepts, practices, and procedures within the payroll field. The successful candidate must also have excellent organization skills, be able to handle confidential information, and have a demonstrated track record of working collaboratively with other members of the Payroll Team. This position is full-time forty (40) hours per week.

Essential Duties

 • Perform analyses and audits of payroll information for each “Payroll Group” to ensure compliance with contracts and collective bargaining agreements, including managing and reviewing Detailed and Summary Register Reports

• Audit data integrity between the time and attendance system and the payroll system Paycom to ensure both are in sync on a weekly basis

•Develop and maintain reports and provide data analysis

• Identify and participate in process improvement projects

• Assist in processing Bi-Weekly payroll for a large group of employees in multiple states

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams within Payroll to update and maintain procedure manuals and work instructions for all payroll functions

 • Work with Sr. Payroll Tax Analyst to Review the Payroll Department’s tax withholding and reporting practices to ensure compliance and the prompt reporting of all discrepancies

 • Reconciliation of tax data (EE/ER) on a per pay period, quarterly and annual basis

 • Maintain analyses reconciliations of selected payroll payment activity, e.g., Reversals, Voids, Stale Dated Check and Replacement Checks

• Act as a back-up for scheduled or unscheduled absences as business needs deem necessary

 • Advise management of suggested procedural updates, identify opportunities to improve current processes

• Assist in providing support for external auditors

• Assist with verification of accurate reporting for W2 forms and submission of timely filing; including set up and review of new Earnings Codes; partner with HR to review new Deduction Codes

• Collaborate with HR, Accounting, and Contracts to resolve errors and disputes (pay rate discrepancies, ACH returns, recalls and stop payments)

 • Work with Payroll Software to research, analyze, and resolve tax filings inquires, submission of Garnishments and open issues (cases)

 • Assist with the validation of W4, State, and Local Agency Tax forms for accuracy as processed by HR, Payroll or interfaced from an Applicant Tracking System. As well as provide Tax set up guidance to internal Payroll Team Members

 

 Education, Experience, & Systems Knowledge

 • A bachelor’s degree and 4+ years of experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience

• Strong technical acumen

•Proficient in MS Excel including advanced formulas functions (Vlookups, Pivot tables, IF statements)

•A thorough knowledge of payroll integrations and downstream impact

• Functional knowledge of payroll systems including reporting and integration experience preferred

 • Strong functional and analytical skillset with ability to identify, troubleshoot and resolve system issues

• Knowledge of registration for all new federal, state, and local tax jurisdictions

• Ability to interpret legal court order documents for wage garnishment process

 • Ability to research federal, state and local laws to support changing legislation regarding wage garnishments, earnings & tax compliance
