The Role - Senior Manager – Human Resources – Brownsburg, QC
This position is seeking someone to lead & facilitate HR Operational excellence across Orica Manufacturing. This person will provide Business Partnering and consistent functional delivery in facilitating the achievement of Orica’s Business Goals and HR Strategy through execution of expert HR, ER and IR coaching, advice and support to Orica Manufacturing business.

• Business Partnering with focus on Safety and Global Manufacturing strategy implementation for region
• Planning and Advice within country or regional legislative frameworks
• Champion the functional model in the region, leading and coaching the HRBP’s on operational sites
• Coaching for regional leadership teams
• Response to planned and emerging industrial issues through advice to line managers including performance management and discipline
• Long term planning, strategy and execution of site based industrial agreement renewal approach and execution
• Work with the site leadership teams to identify value drivers for site and translate to HR work for Business partners
• Implementation of organisational wide projects at a site/regional level as required
• Oversight of collective agreements in the region, including negotiation involvements as required
• Review of regional industrial relations trends
• Provide ER/IR advice to the business/site
• Support Learning/Training implementation of Global, Regional and local risk and compliance requirements for region
• Support the build of Global and Regional talent programs resulting in leadership pipelines and succession plans using core manufacturing tools and templates


Experience and Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience in HR generalist activities is required
  • Degree in Business/Commerce/Engineering is required
  • Bilingual in English and French is required
  • Solid knowledge of Industrial Psychology is a plus
  • Excellent ability to provide talent development
  • Strong communication, negotiation, collaboration and Influencing skills.
  • Working knowledge of relevant employment legislation, law and awards.
  • Change management skills.
  • Strong administration and organisation skills.
  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Ability to work autonomously and as a virtual team
  • Tertiary qualifications in HR or related discipline
  • Experience in industrial relations
  • Good knowledge and understanding of HR practices, employment law
