Senior Human Resources Generalist

Essential Job Functions:

  • Lead HR projects of varying size and scope that may span across multiple business units.
  • Develop and implement company policies and procedures including employee handbook in conjunction with senior management
  • Ensure legal compliance is maintained within the organization as it relates to all federal/state regulations and employment laws
  • Provide oversight of all leave programs such as FMLA, Personal Leave, etc
  • Maintain, create and/or update personnel documents such as performance evaluation forms, job descriptions or organization charts, etc. 
  • Handle and investigate employee relation issues and concerns such as employee complaints, harassment allegations, discriminatory allegations, and civil right complaints.
  • Manages Worker's Compensation program
  • Represent the organization at all unemployment hearings and appeals
  • Compile and prepare reports and documents related to personnel activities
  • Consult with managers on employee issues including performance, behavioral problems, corrective action, and termination as needed
  • Respond to employee questions and serves as a resource for all staff regarding personnel related topics
  • Coordinate recruiting activities including sourcing, screening, setting up interviews, checking references or offers of employment, etc.
  • Manage the on-boarding and orientation process for new hires
  • Ensure that compensation and performance evaluation programs are “up to date” and the company is consistent in its practices across the organization.
  • Manage the payroll process for all exempt and non-exempt staff
  • Process and maintain termination documentation as well as conduct exit interviews
  • Coordinate the company 401(k) payroll, day-to-day requirements and responsibilities and annual audit
  • Provide management with professional guidance and training related to interviewing, performance appraisals, counseling techniques, time management or documentation of performance issues
  • Work with vendors as needed to provide necessary data, schedule meetings or research issues as they relate to personnel
  • Manage and maintain employee benefit programs including the open enrollment process and making recommendations to senior management on benefits strategy.
  • Perform benefits administration to include claims resolution, change reporting, approving invoices for payment and communicating benefit information to employees.
  • Attend outside seminars and educational events to ensure staying current on latest developments and to grow Human Resources Management knowledge.

Requirements

Bachelor's Degree in HR, business or other related field

Minimum 5 years of human resources experience

PHR, SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP Certification
