SUMMARY   

The Senior Human Resources Business Partner will be responsible in all areas of Human Resources (HR), partnering closely with the HR team and business leaders in order to champion a positive culture, nurture talent, and seek opportunities to create a positive impact on the organization. This position is both operational and strategic in nature. The overall goal is to align HR practices with the business needs while being an integral part of supporting the Global Prescription Management (GPM) leadership team. Provide HR expertise in the areas of recruitment and retention of talent, employee relations, manager coaching, and employee training in order to foster the transformation of the business.  

  

GPM is a business unit within Covetrus focused on transforming veterinary practices with its breakthrough technology. The prescription management platform, network of specialty pharmacies, and data insights reporting help veterinarians manage patient therapies better to dramatically grow their business.  

  

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.   

  • Accountable in all Human Resources areas with a strong emphasis on employee engagement, compliance, and employee relations.   
  • Partner with the business to align HR policies and practices with business needs and proactively provide support to help drive achievement of business results.   
  • Provide HR solutions in the realm of strategic project management, merger and acquisition support, employee relations, leadership development, compensation, organizational development and talent management.   
  • Provide objective and solutions-based advice and guidance on effective management practices related to workforce relations and change management.   
  • Develop, leverage and implement HR solutions to improve the utilization, performance, and retention of talent resources.   
  • Demonstrate a deep understanding of the business while supporting employee related activities and programs.   
  • Consult with management to provide expertise and guidance in facilitation, planning and execution and strategy development of employees to drive organizational effectiveness.   
  • Partner with managers on coaching and performance management.  
  • Maintain a professional level of confidentiality in all matters pertaining to employees and managers.   
  • Provide guidance, interpretation and best practices to employees and managers on all HR policies and practices.  
  • Partner with Centers of Excellence in areas including talent acquisition, compensation, benefits, HRIS and OD to build, roll out and support HR programs and best practices within the business.   
  • Work with minimal supervision, manage and resolve complex employee relations issues, conducting formal investigations and compliance reviews relating to disputes and employee complaints/concerns.   

QUALIFICATIONS:   

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE   

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and HR experience   

5-7+ years direct experience in the HR field with knowledge across all HR disciplines   

  

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS   

  • SPHR and/or SHRM-SCP certification preferred

  • Facilitation skills especially with leadership teams, including negotiating and conflict resolution   
  • Demonstrated attention to quality and strategic orientation to work   
  • Demonstrated flexibility, grace under pressure, and respect for the highly confidential nature of the work   
  • Ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously and effectively to meet frequently changing business-driven timelines   
  • Ability to quickly establish and maintain rapport with people of diverse backgrounds and professional levels   
  • Ability to work autonomously while ensuring a strong partnership with the HR team   
  • Computer proficiency, including HRIS/Payroll experience
