Sr. HR Generalist

The Senior Human Resources Generalist role is responsible for the development, implementation, and execution of HR solutions aligned to the business and HR strategy. Working directly with designated business units, the Sr. HR Generalist provides HR solutions support, process knowledge advice and consultation. Working collaboratively with the COEs and HRBPs, the Sr. HR Consultant will influence and execute HR processes and initiatives.


This position carries out responsibilities in the following functional areas, including, but not limited to: employee relations, training, performance management, new hire onboarding, off-boarding, policy implementation, organizational change and employment law compliance.  As a member of the HR Field Team, this role serves on the HR front lines in support of the business.


The Sr. HR Generalist will work on complex issues where analysis of situations or data will require an in-depth evaluation of variable factors.  In this role, the Sr. HR Generalist will exercise judgment in selecting methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results determine methods and procedures on new assignments and may provide guidance to other personnel.   Specific responsibilities include:

  • Providing Human Resources advice, support, consultation and guidance, including application of HR policies and processes, to assigned business unit and employees 
  • Maintaining ongoing compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations
  • Navigating and assisting in the resolution of employee issues; leading employee relations initiatives and investigations to ensure  a positive and fair work environment
  • Facilitating New Hire Orientation and activities as part of onboarding process
  • Conducting exit interviews and related activities as part of the off-boarding process
  • Ensuring timely response to inquiries and requests from employees
  • Supporting change management related to the implementation of organizational effectiveness solutions
  • Developing and maintaining an understanding of business and plans through exposure to business activities
  • Gathering and analyzing feedback from business unit and may partner with HR Business Partner and /or Field HR Manager in developing and implementing solutions
  • Collaborating with the COEs to execute HR processes and associated activities (Benefits/LOA, Compensation, Talent Management, Talent Acquisition etc.)
  • Collaborating with Immigration Specialist on a variety of employment-based visa matters
  • Implementing and managing large scale initiatives (i.e., annual performance review process, employee engagement survey, new programs/policies, etc.)
  • Ensuring proper maintenance of confidential employee information
  • Participating in the selection process for recruitment of key positions
  • Providing information and tools to support effective delivery of HR services and processes, including HR related systems (talent management, timecards, etc.)
  • Facilitating and ensuring compliance with company policies and coaches internal customers/business partners on Skyworks values
  • May support integration activities for newly acquired businesses
  • Other duties as assigned


Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in business or HR, or equivalent experience; advanced degree preferred;
  • Minimum 8 years HR Generalist experience
  • PHR/SPHR or equivalent preferred
  • Knowledge of federal and California employment laws, labor relations and regulations
  • Employment based immigration knowledge or experience is preferred
  • Must have solid experience in driving positive employee relations, to include strong problem solving, analysis  and investigative skills
  • Ability to effectively coach and influence others
  • Must self-motivated and able to effectively work independently
  • Ability to prioritize and work well under pressure
  • Must have a customer-focused attitude, with high level of professionalism and discretion
  • Must possess excellent oral and written communication skills along with the ability to present and facilitate
  • Ability to adapt to change in job duties
  • Some travel may be required
