This Senior HR Generalist position is responsible for overseeing a combination of functional areas of the human resources department to maintain a competent and productive workforce. Duties for this position may vary dependent on previous experience and expertise in different areas of human resources. Below are examples of the types of job duties in each area: oversees the recruiting division to include advertising, candidate screening process, and review of new hire files, demotions and department transfers. Ensures that all department policies and procedures have been adhered to throughout the process, provides employment analysis to management regarding full-cycle recruitment, rescinds and other various reporting as required. Oversees the benefits division to include all LOA’s, OJI’s, FMLA, COBRA, and 401(k) process and ensures the unemployment claims process is consistent with Federal Law. Oversees contracts and negotiations, regulatory changes and compliance with Tribal Council and State Compact and any issues that arise with any other department agencies to ensure changes are being applied and communicated. Oversees the training division to ensure training needs are being met by analyzing organizational results, job requirements, operational issues, plans and forecasts, and current training programs. Oversees employee relations in reviewing investigations, disciplinary actions, suspensions, and terminations providing recommendations of corrective action and trends identified.

Provides support to department managers and staff while promoting good employee relations and conducting themselves in a professional manner. Performs additional job duties as assigned by department director.



  • Bachelor's Degree is required

Experience & Requirements:

  • Five years of human resources experience which include any two combinations of experience in the following areas: recruitment, benefits, employee relations, organizational development and/or training.
  • Three years executive level administrative support in gaming environment of comparable size
  • Two years prior supervisory experience
  • Experience in tribal organization preferred
  • Formal computer software training in MS Office Suite and Visio
  • Additional education and or related experience may substitute for the minimum requirements of this position

Physical Requirements:

    • Must be able to sit for extended periods of time
    • Must have good manual and finger dexterity
    • Must have good eye sight for prolonged periods of concentration
    • Must be able to tolerate a smoke filled environment

Additional Requirements:

      • Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen
      • Upon offer must obtain Class IIIA Gaming License ($273-355)
      • Must be able to work all scheduled shifts to include day, swing, graveyard and holidays
