Job Summary


Act as a subject matter expert, internal consultant, and project manager to Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago (FRBC) management on large and complex Diversity and Inclusion (D&I) projects. Provide a wide range of D&I business consulting services, including implementing and leading projects, business

process design, D&I business case analysis, and advice on strategic D&I issues. Initiate and cultivate relationships with leaders and staff, assisting them in identifying barriers and opportunities to employee recruitment, development, promotion, and retention. Support business units and other stakeholders in

creating and sustaining inclusive cultures and behaviors to drive business results and performance. Perform advanced, specialized and administrative duties in designated D&I program or section area. Responsible for providing high-level support in the administration of D&I and HR programs. May provide

work direction to others and coordinate people resources.

 

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

 

  • Implement, monitor, and evaluate the FRBC D&I strategic plan by aligning FRBC practices and processes to support diversity objectives
  • Research, evaluate, and propose industry best practices in D&I to be considered by senior leadership and other senior internal stakeholders
  • Contribute to and develop high quality communications, reports, and presentations on FRBC D&I performance
  • Influence FRBC leadership by socializing the D&I strategic plan, the value proposition of D&I, and the critical role of D&I goals at both the FRBC and senior leadership levels
  • Consult with senior leadership to identify, recommend, and implement D&I solutions to enhance business performance and human capital needs, building on strengths in order to address areas of opportunity
  • Support the FRBC Employee Support Network Groups (ESNGs) strategy and serve as consultant to the groups as they implement their strategic plans
  • Effectively collaborate with Human Resources function, including co-leading and supporting integration of D&I in employee recruitment, development, promotion, retention and other HR processes, and with the Supplier Diversity function
  • Work closely with consulting firms to maximize D&I resources offered to the FRBC and its departments
  • Ensure program or section area is in compliance with established D&I strategies, policies and procedures
  • Assist with developing, coordinating, and recommending changes for the improvement of workflow in the program or section area
  • Identify and manage inherent people and culture risks within the FRBC to ensure an effective internal control environment, and assesses and implements controls to mitigate those risks.
  • May lead project teams, including the planning, assigning, and/or supervising the work of others

 


Requirements

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree, graduate coursework preferred, or equivalent experience
  • 7 plus years of relevant professional work experience in diversity & inclusion preferred
  • Certifications in D&I preferred
  • Prior experience leading large scale team-based projects preferred
  • Robust human resources, project management, organizational development or applicable business unit experience highly desirable

 

Knowledge and Skills

  • Deep knowledge of D&I practices and principles with
  • Highly skilled in adaptability, critical thinking, and collaboration/teamwork
  • Ability to think strategically and proactively to offer big picture solutions
  • Strong proficiency in MS Office Suite, web/internet navigation and demonstrated ability to learn new applications
  • Excellent written, oral, and high-level interpersonal communication skills
  • Demonstrates strong presentation skills
  • Possesses and applies strong consultative and negotiation skills
