Job Duties

This position is responsible for creating and implementing Leadership and Personal Development Programs for all levels of team members throughout the company. This position will also lead the Training and Development Function for the company. The incumbent will lead and manage the traditional training and development functions and lead the transformation from traditional training functions into a results oriented, business solution of human capital, focused on development of these non-tangible assets. 

  • Create and implement key personal effectiveness programs to support the following projects and initiatives: Leadership Development strategy and program development; succession planning, talent reviews and talent calibration; mentoring programs; and new manager orientation and assimilation.
  • Lead the Training and Development Department to create systemwide training materials and tools to ensure the proper onboarding, training and ongoing support of all company projects and programs.
  • Partner with Management/Leadership to identify and align high potential, diverse talent, focusing on long-term development and succession planning for individual development.
  • Manage, research and recommend leadership development best practices and technologies to support teaching and learning.
  • Implement and maintain infrastructure for tracking programs to validate effectiveness. Influence and engage leaders to actively participate in program development and facilitation.
  • Work closely with Training, Team Member Services, Operations and leadership within the company to develop and/or customize focused leadership and personal effectiveness strategies for their departments and/or individuals.
  • Redesign, customize and enhance existing programs to build leadership, managerial and team member skills and competencies.
  • Responsible for managing external leadership development program preparation and set up, to include updating of materials, coordination of speakers and detail of securing facilities, logistics, etc. Be a liaison with facilitator and ensure program and attendance information is captured and recorded.
  • Assist in all activities, as needed or assigned, to contribute to on-time and effective department programs and services.


  • BS/BA degree in Business, Human Resources or Leadership/Personal Development related field is required. MBA/MA degree in related field preferred.
  • Certification in the use and implementation of Leadership Identification and Development instruments required.
  • SPHR or SHRM-SCP strongly desired.
  • 6+ years of Leadership/Personal Development experience required.
  • Proven results in moving and developing organizations and individuals to their fullest potential.
  • Experience in business and change management preferred.
  • Must have excellent interpersonal and collaboration skills and have worked with all levels of leadership within an organization.
  • Ability to influence at all levels of the organization and confidence to present new ideas.
  • Ability to travel 40% of the time.
