POSITION SUMMARY

The Senior Director is directly responsible for the overall administration, coordination, and evaluation of the human resources/partner service function.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

 

®         Drives the IMH strategic objective of creating a place where people can do their best work.

®         Annually reviews and makes recommendations to executive management for improvement of the organization’s HR policies, procedures, and practices.

®         Maintains knowledge of industry trends and develops proactive HR plans and processes.

®         Effectively communicates change in the organization’s HR policies and procedures.

®         Assists executive management in the annual review, preparation, and administration of the organization’s wage and benefits programs.

®         Develops and drives HR strategies that support and maximize IMH’s overall strategy.

®         Develops and deploys fiscally sound HR practices.

®         Drives and participates in continuous improvement efforts.

®         Consults with legal counsel as appropriate, or as directed by the CEO/COO, on personnel matters.

®         Works directly with department managers to assist them in developing and utilizing their people.

®         Recommends, evaluates, and participates in staff development for the organization.

®         Maintains responsibility for organizational compliance with federal, state and local legislation pertaining to all personnel matters.

®         Maintains and maximizes the human resource information system.

®         Supervises the staff of the human resource department.

®         Other duties as assigned.


Requirements

EDUCATION

 

®         Bachelor's degree in related field required.

®         Master’s Degree in Business Administration, Public Administration or related fields preferred.

EXPERIENCE

 

®         At least two (2) years of experience in benefits administration preferred.

®         At least four (4) years combined Human Resources functions preferred.

®         At least two (2) years of experience in Education and adult learning styles preferred.

®         Lean / Performance Improvement management experience required.

®         Hospital experience preferred.

®         Experience leading a team preferred.

CREDENTIALS

 

®         PHR/SPHR/SHRM/CEBS certification preferred.

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

 

®         Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to act as an agent of change.

®         Must have a thorough understanding of the Human Resources support functions.

®         Strong analytical skills.

®         Must have strong accounting/math skills.

®         Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.

®         Excellent customer service skills, including but not limited to: a friendly personality, tact, patience, empathy and a helpful, professional attitude both in person and on the telephone.

®         Ability to effectively communicate with staff, managers and the general public verbally and in writing.

®         Demonstrate effective listening skills.

®         Excellent organization and time management skills and ability to establish priorities effectively.

®         Possess exceptional problem solving skills.

®         Ability to work effectively without immediate supervision.

®         Ability to learn new computer software programs.

®         Ability to recognize and protect confidential information.

®         Demonstrate ethical and legal accountability for the position.
