Reporting to the Regional Vice President of Human Resources and matrixed to the Division VP of Talent, the Senior Director of Talent is responsible for creating and deploying talent management, talent acquisition and Diversity & Inclusion strategies to strengthen the organization’s capabilities and ensure it has the talent to meet current and future business needs.  The role will focus on establishing talent programs that positively strengthen the organization’s capabilities in attracting, assessing, selecting, on- boarding, retaining and developing “best in class talent.”

Comcast Cable Communications is seeking an experienced Senior Director of Talent to join our Talent Center of Excellence. The Talent Sr. Director will be responsible for building and leading an organization that supports geographically dispersed roles within the Freedom Region (DE, NJ, PA).  This role will set the overall planning, sourcing, selection, development and succession strategy.  Lead Talent Management processes, providing counsel to the region’s senior business leaders on talent assessment, succession planning, diversity, and high-potential leadership development.  Provide leadership and mentoring to a team of recruiters and recruiting coordinator(s) to deliver talent to the business in a timely manner. Will create and implement regional sourcing plans and retention strategies. Ensure sourcing efforts are legally compliant and aligned with outreach objectives. Measure effectiveness of talent strategies and recommend improvements. As part of Center of Excellence for Talent this role will support the implementation of process improvements as the COE continues to optimize the use of existing processes and tools, drive adherence to company policies, and enhance existing processes and their business impact.

This position will actively manage the relationship to ensure client satisfaction through evaluating the current use of talent processes and tools; analyze metrics and qualitative data to monitor performance and compliance. The position partners closely with regional business leaders and HR leadership teams to gather input and continuously educate on the process, roles and responsibilities with an emphasis on exploring ways to enhance the model’s effectiveness and sustainability.

Core Responsibilities:

 - Develop and implement innovative, creative, high-impact performance talent development, recruiting and retention, diversity and inclusion strategies that enable outstanding organizational performance across the enterprise.

 - Partner with HR Business Partners and Regional Senior Leadership Team to lead performance management, employee development and retention strategies.

 - Participate in development of customized diversity and inclusion strategies, including diversity pipeline efforts.

 - Make informed, bold and courageous decisions; advocate for business-impacting changes and challenge decisions that do not add value. Comfortable working in a matrix environment.

 - Lead the Talent Review process for the region, exploring best in class practices to make it an ongoing year-round focus of accountability. Provide research, analysis, consultation and recommendations for the strategic talent planning process.

 - Standardize Regional future leader development focus.  Support the preparation and nomination process for all formalized high potential Comcast development opportunities and explore new ways to engage and grow high potential talent.

 - Monitor staffing levels and implement strategies to effectively use succession plans.

 - Leads, manages and provides strategic direction to the existing Leader Cohort Platform based upon business needs, best practices, effectiveness. (630+ leaders)

 - Select, work with, and effectively manage outside vendors as appropriate.

 - Forecast staffing goals and systems to ensure the people needs of the business are met and align with strategic plans and goals.

 - Develop and sustain a suite of programs which support internal succession and diversity goals.

 - Collaborates with Managers to identify and develop key outreach sourcing initiatives to ensure a constant pipeline of talented and diverse applicants. Directs internal and external recruitment and placement activities and relationship building with businesses, government and community service       agencies, colleges, employment agencies, and search firms.

 - Accountable for creating a positive work environment managing a staff of in-house and contract recruiters.



This position requires a BA/BS degree in related field.  A Masters in Human Resources, Labor Relations or Organizational Development is highly desired.  Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in managerial/director roles in recruitment leadership.  Experience must include in-depth knowledge and awareness of progressive talent management strategies and building high performance teams.  Current experience should include in-depth talent management experience, staffing and recruiting business leaders across a geographically dispersed consumer services company, diversity management, and succession planning along with deep experience with entry level staffing over a large geographically dispersed client base.  Experience in using and optimizing applicant tracking/ATS to support recruiting operations.  SAP experience a plus. PHR or SPHR Certification is a plus.



- Well-developed experience in creating Talent Management, Talent Acquisition and D&I strategies including advanced use of social networking sites, for passive and active candidate recruitment.

- Should be a “Master of the Art and Science of Talent”  

- Experience developing recruitment process including the development of forms, strategies and tactics to be used by a recruitment team.   

- Excellent skills at cultivating relationships with Senior Business Leaders. 

- Well-developed writing skills and exposure to the creation and placement for collateral materials and the creation of job descriptions.

- Strong negotiation skills and ability to listen advise and influence Business Leaders in a matrixed organization.

- Cross-functional project management experience and the ability to lead a diverse team.

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills required; strong presentation skills.

- Initiates, implements and supports change within the organization.

- Demonstrates a high degree of integrity in dealing with sensitive information.
