Function and Scope:

Reporting to the Director of Organizational Development, the Senior Consultant, Learning & Development will lead and/or assist with research, design, development, implementation, facilitation, and coordination of staff-related leadership and professional development programs and activities, staff-related LMS, as well as ongoing training associated with ACC’s performance management processes. This position requires an on-going interest and demonstrated skill in the tactical as well as strategic components of training and leadership development.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Work with Director to create short-term and long-term learning strategies and development programs linked to ACC’s strategic initiatives and needs of staff.  
  • Work with Director to develop and oversee a core professional and leadership development curriculum.
  • Manage and provide recommendations for ACC’s employee Learning Management System; leverage LMS to support new and on-going learning initiatives and projects; analyze usage; lead communications and training for staff.
  • Work with Director to oversee and manage relationships with vendors in the design, development, and implementation of professional and leadership development programs.
  • Utilize instructional design principles to research, assess, design, develop, implement, and evaluate learning solutions for staff
  • Manage the evaluation process for all learning including, quarterly reporting on learning events.
  • Manage the Performance Management system and develop and implement training related to ACC’s performance management process.
  • Assist Director with identification and oversight of the training budget.
  • Collaborate with Director on the development and marketing of learning and development programs to drive focus and visibility of new and existing learning initiatives.
  • Provide facilitation for organization-wide in-person courses and team development sessions for staff as needed. 
  • Coordinate and provide logistical support for various organization-wide training and development programming by setting up learning sessions, tracking registration, attendance, and preparing materials.
  • Monitor and analyze user utilization and trends using LMS data.
  • Create and maintain toolkits, and other resource materials, to support execution on key leadership development strategies.
  • Other projects and tasks as assigned.


  • Bachelor’s degree in Organization Development, HRD, or related field.
  • At least 8 years of in-depth learning and development experience.
  • Proven experience developing learning programs for employees at all levels with an emphasis on utilizing multiple learning modalities to deliver learning solutions.
  • Working knowledge of organizational development, change management, and staff and leadership development best practice.
  • Proven experience with linking employee learning to organizational strategies.
  • Experience using Articulate Studio or other e-learning authoring software.
  • Experience managing LMS for course delivery, managing registrations, and learning program evaluation.
  • Experience building course content, conducting classroom training, assessing training effectiveness, and building/leading courses that are focused on building leadership skills and capabilities.
  • Experience with development of learning for a performance management process.
  • Proven ability to communicate with clarity and purpose, in a manner that is both collaborative and productive.
  • Strong planning and organizational skills with ability to multi-task and adapt easily to change; confidence with attention to details when required
  • Presentation and facilitation experience with all staff levels.
  • Strong team orientation and collaboration skills.
  • Demonstrated success in dynamic environments and willingness to rapidly adapt to changing priorities.
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills, including proficiency with Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Organizational Development, HRD, Adult Learning, or related field.
  • Experience working in, or closely with, a Human Resources department strongly preferred.
  • Hands-on experience with Cornerstone.
