SAP Functional Analyst - HRIS

The incumbent provides support for assigned SAP HR/HCM modules. Position consults with business process owners and subject matter experts to configure system modules, to implement business process solutions, to manage projects, to provide end user training, and to ensure compliance with data regulations and security protocols.

Major Duties/Responsibilities

  • Propose business solutions, including system configurations, to meet business process needs and requirements.  Proposals include writing business cases, identifying requirements, completing gap analyses, and researching technical and functional solutions.
  • Consult with managers, business process owners, subject matter experts, system super users, and end users concerning business needs and HCM solutions. Benchmark industry, vendor, association, and other agencies concerning best practices. Advise organizational leaders regarding change management practices.
  • Prepare, coordinate, and lead system demonstrations. Asses interface of ad hoc systems to primary HRIS/HCM.
  • Audit and assess validity of data in HCM.  Recommend system and business process changes to maintain or to increase data integrity.
  • Provide expertise on system configuration and functionality for upgrades, maintenance, and enhancements.
  • Monitor and apply regulatory and legal changes that affect business processes and system functionality.
  • Analyze reports. Recommend new reports. Design and write queries and other reports.
  • Initiate and lead design and testing of reports, interfaces, forms, and conversions. Perform validation and reconciliation of data conversions.
  • Research, evaluate, implement, and administer third party software tools to streamline business processes and to enhance HCM functionality.
  • Research, analyze, apply, and test system support packages regularly to assure updated functionality.
  • Collaborate with implementation consultants and vendors to install new modules or to test and to configure new system releases.
  • Participate in research. Develop business cases. Analyze business processes. Complete complex configuration. Prepare and execute testing plans. Coordinate user testing. Identify and solve problems. Document processes and procedures.
  • Identify new or changed end user secure roles. Test roles. Clarify role conflicts, and coordinate with business process owners on a strategy to manage conflicts.
  • Coordinate HCM functionality with other technology groups, such as web, applications, etc.
  • Design and configure HCM system functionality.  Develop and design testing.  Test new and changed functionalities. Identify problems. Recommend solutions, and coordinate strategy to manage conflicts with business process owners.
  • Design reports. Analyze and identify specifications.
  • Design, plan, and coordinate implementation plans with end users, HCM support team, and all stakeholders.
  • Manage project resources to complete project objectives within budget and on schedule.
  • Develop and implement project plans using formal systems development methodology and project tools.
  • Assist project teams with planning, scheduling, and reporting. Provide direction, training, and work review for project teams. Organize and assign work; set priorities, and control project status to ensure coordination and completion of assigned work.
  • Create business process documents, flow charts, and decision making documents. Document user requirements.
  • Investigate and solve end user problems; instruct users on correct processes or correct HRIS/HCM configuration to meet customer needs.
  • Teach individual and group classes on HRIS/HCM business processes, incorporating organizational rules, contract requirements, and other state and federal regulations.
  • Consult with business process owners on training materials. Develop and maintain training content.
  • Analyze user issue trends. Initiate training, procedural communications, and other media to improve user performance.
  • Advise and assist end users to understand HRIS/HCM data, to determine optimal reports for data extraction, to set report specifications, and to analyze report data.
  • Ensure compliance with environment, safety, health and quality program requirements.
  • Maintain a strong commitment to the implementation and perpetuation of values and ethics.

Requirements

Qualifications Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of five years of increasing responsible work experience in one or more functional areas of HRIS/HCM solutions.
  • Position requires three years of experience managing moderately complex projects, including experience interpreting and analyzing information system requirements, developing complex solutions, and configuring HRIS/HCM system.
  • Position demands excellent interpersonal, organization, time management, oral and written communication, and problem solving skills, with an emphasis on customer interaction.
  • A demonstrated ability to be detail-oriented and accurate, to set priorities appropriately, and to work on multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment is required.
  • Position requires working capabilities in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Position requires advanced to expert knowledge and skill (4-7 years) in business intelligence technologies, such as data integration, data quality, data warehousing, master data management, and data analytics.
  • Position also demands advanced to expert knowledge and skill (4-7 years) providing information to make business decisions, using data mining, querying, reporting, and business analytics.
  • Position demands skill to capture and document requirements and business rules for creating custom business applications, to create design specifications, including interfaces to internal and to external systems, to design mock-ups of reports or new screen layouts, to define, write, and execute test strategies for acceptance testing and for issue resolution.
  • Position requires an ability to analyze system capability and to make configuration recommendations based on business processes.
  • Individual must be able to research system technical and functional solutions, to benchmark industry trends, to identify legislative and regulatory impacts, and to provide gap analyses to management.
  • Position requires an ability to translate complex technology concepts into user understandable terms and to transform business needs into technical solutions.
  • Individual must have a rapid learning ability and mental agility to deal with quickly changing technology.
  • Individual must perform tasks with limited supervision, a strong customer focus, and with a team orientation.
  • Incumbent must have experience in working with information of a business sensitive nature, with proven ability to meet this responsibility in a professional and ethical manner.
  • Incumbent must be able to pass a criminal background check successfully.

Qualifications Desired:

  • Prior HCM cloud system experience with SAP, Oracle, WorkDay, Cornerstone, SABA, or other industry leader is highly desirable.
