Purpose of the position

The Regional Compensation & Benefits Manager will lead the compensation and benefits function within the Americas Region, ensuring integration of global processes and will assume overall responsibility for the day-to-day operations of the function within the USA. In addition the position will be the regional lead on managing expatriate compensation & benefits.

Key Tasks

  • Provide strategic leadership and operational management of the planning, development, and administration of a total rewards strategy that will attract, engage and retain top talent for the organization in the Americas Region.
  • Design and lead the execution of compensation and benefit programs (e.g. annual compensation review process, variable compensation plans, salary administration, health & welfare, and recognition programs).
  • Partner with key stakeholders to fully understand the current and future business needs and to ensure that the total rewards strategy and program activities drive and support the goal to cultivate a performance culture, excellence and engagement.
  • Act as the primary source of compensation and benefits expertise for Regional Management and Country HR.
  • Be responsible for the benchmarking and preparation of compensation packages for all senior hires, senior promotions and international transfers.
  • Actively plan and drive the governance and agenda for all USA Compensation and Benefits programs.
  • Manage the overall cost and budget of the USA compensation and benefits programs and provide oversight to other countries within the region.
  • Partner with Finance on Compensation and Benefit programs to ensure alignment with costs and practices.
  • Build effective working relationships with external partners, clarifying and communicating desired program needs, negotiating vendor contracts and agreements and monitoring service targets
  • Execute policy and guidelines for the international mobility and expatriate management and link to enterprise strategy and core processes and activities

 

Function / Market & Industry Knowledge / Business Acumen / Process working

  • A track record in an international environment in any sector with preference for having lived and worked outside his/her home country
  • Deep and broad seasoned C&B and Global Mobility professional know-how
  • Experience in an international matrix work environment
  • Profound know-how and application of general HR concepts / processes
  • Sound HR knowledge in HR processes and instruments
  • Proven project management and process skills

Educational Background / Work Experience

  • Graduate level degree ideally with a specialist HR post-graduate qualification

  • Expatriate and mobility experience having worked with various compensation models as well as solid understanding of international moves.

  • Significant experience developing a total reward strategy within an organization – this includes job grading, compensation review, variable pay schemes and benefits.

  • Significant experience working with annual and long-term incentive compensation plans at the senior level is a must.

  • Expertise in USA Benefits landscape.

  • Significant experience in managing compensation programs, including integrated HRIS systems.

 

Language skills

  • English fluency in speaking and writing.

 

Computer Literacy

  • Proficient in MS Office and HR Systems according to the requirements of the position
