The HR Recruiter is primarily responsible for implementing UNCF’s recruiting strategy, selection process and fulfilling the staffing needs of the organization. Provides the full recruiting life-cycle process to identify and develop a pipeline of candidates for hiring managers. The individual may also be responsible for administering other Human Resources functions to include: performance management and employee relations.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.


Develop recruitment plans with hiring managers, to select qualified candidates to fill open positions.


Develop job analyses and descriptions, preparation of vacancy announcements.


Conduct pre-screenings, interviews and background/reference checks on qualified candidates.


Negotiate offers to selected candidates, generate offer letter and transition candidate to appropriate HR Coordinator for onboarding.


Manage recruitment compliance requirements, state and federal regulations, as well as aadminister and communicate organization policies, procedures and standards.


Assist with administration of UNCF’s performance management program to include ensuring managers are following organizational guidelines and processes, providing training and tracking the timely completion of reviews.

Provide advice and guidance on employee relations issues, conflict resolution, and corrective action documentation. May conduct employee relations investigations under the guidance of the HR Director.

Maintain HR records in the HRIS and develop reports and metrics for management as required.

Facilitate training to inform or assist employees/managers on job related activities, policies or best practices as directed by HR Director.


Complete special projects; setting timetables and schedules; conducting research; developing and organizing information; fulfilling transactions.


Assist with maintenance of the human resources information system, including generating routine and ad hoc reports as requested.


Perform other work-related duties as assigned.

Education and/or Experience                                            

Position requires a Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or a related field and five to seven years of relevant experience or a combination of education and experience.


Language Skills                                            


Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.


Computer Skills                                          


To perform this job successfully, an individual should have working knowledge and some experience with HRIS. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.


Other Skills and Abilities                                                   

Individual must have a thorough understanding of federal and state government employment laws and regulations to include Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO), Occupational Safety and Health Act (OSHA), Federal Labor Standards Act (FLSA) and other related laws in order to maintain compliance.
