Job Description


This position is responsible for recruiting highly skilled talent with a focus on Oil & Gas industry within California, applying business knowledge, and human resources expertise. You will assist in providing a wide range of HR support and advice. Playing a key role in the success of the organization by leading the development, establishment, and streamline the recruiting process, orientation, onboarding, performance management, employee relations and HR best practices while facilitating a positive relationship between employees and management.

This position is expected to spend 60% of the time on recruiting efforts and 40% of the time on Human Resources administration functions.

Core Responsibilities

Recruitment (60%)

  • Lead recruiting efforts across California, developing and execute recruiting plans, and networking through industry contacts, association memberships, conferences, recruiting events, career fairs, social media, and employees.
  • Give presentations at colleges/professional organizations, attend group meetings, and increase awareness of the company before and after fairs
  • Develop and track measurable facets of the recruiting and hiring process so that the processes are transparent and measurable. Set continuous improvement goals.
  • Review applicants, evaluate for position requirements, conduct prescreening interviews, assist in performing reference and background checks for potential employees, prepare and send offer packages and new employee orientation packages.
  • Assist in interviewing and selecting employees onsite.
  • Maintain all pertinent applicant and interview data in E2’s recruiting platform.
  • Maintain ongoing relationships with employment agencies to ensure the selection of the most qualified candidates.
  • Aid E2’s marketing team in establishing E2 as a recognizable firm of choice (both internally and externally) for clients and employees and further our mission of executing flawlessly, and inspiring innovations

Human Resources (40%)

  • Execute day-to-day HR responsibilities for CA offices, applying knowledge of HR laws, regulations, procedures and company policies.
  • Streamline companywide employee onboarding process and assist with CA new hire orientation.
  • Develop, implement, administer and update HR Policies and Procedures as needed.
  • Prepare annual affirmative action plans and file mandatory federal reports.
  • Assist the HR Director with compensation planning and administration.
  • Provide high-quality advice and service to management on daily employee relations and performance management issues.
  • Support the HR department in implementing programs to help improve the employee experience.
  • Prepare offer, rejection, termination and severance letters as needed.
  • Collect data on employee turnover rate, employee turnover cost, and preventable employee turnover

Additional Responsibilities

  • Create and maintain job description library.
  • Consider additional measurements that aid you in continuous improvement, cost control, and hiring great people.
  • Conduct regular follow-up with managers to determine the effectiveness of recruiting plans and implementation.
  • Develop a pool of qualified candidates in advance of need.
  • Administrative duties, record keeping, and other duties as assigned.



  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources Management or related discipline
  • 5+ years of human resources experience in Oil & Gas, Engineering and/or Energy Sector.
  • 2+ years of human resources corporate recruiting experience in Oil & Gas, Engineering and/or Energy Sector.
  • Must be well-organized and able to prioritize a diversified workload and be attentive to detail and accuracy. Strong knowledge of multi-state laws, policies, programs, and procedures, including COBRA, ERISA, FMLA, PDL and other related state and federal regulations required.
  • Professional in Human Resources PHR or SHRM-CP certification preferred.

Skills and Abilities

  • Proven strong interpersonal skills, candidate sourcing and relationship building skills. With strong oral and written communication skills and ability to effectively interact with all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Able to collect and interpret data-based measurements to demonstrate the effectiveness or failure of the recruitment system from position opening to onboarding.
  • Must be well-organized, flexible, able to prioritize a diversified workload, be attentive to detail, and accurate.
  • Must be customer service orientated professional but approachable manner and strong oral and written communication skills and ability to effectively interact with all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to effectively respond to sensitive issues, complex inquiries or complaints in a timely manner with tact, diplomacy and the strictest confidentiality
  • Strong computer skills including the MS Office suite.


  • Travel may be required on short notice.
  • Ability to travel for recruitment meetings, college visits, and career fairs and maintain a flexible work schedule.
