BASIC FUNCTION:      Responsible for the recruitment of exempt and non-exempt level requisitions.  Interviews and screens applicants for various member facing and office support roles and maintains records of employment activities and practices.  Handles activities associated with the Credit Union’s recruiting, hiring and on-boarding needs.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Recruiting/Hiring Functions:

  • Partners with hiring managers to develop hiring criteria through the identification of core responsibilities and interview strategies for open positions.
  • Reviews resumes and conducts phone screens to obtain information such as work experience, education, training and occupational expertise and matches candidate qualifications to job requirements.
  • Assesses candidates’ competencies using pre-employment testing instrument data. Consults with hiring managers, making recommendations on best-qualified candidates.
  • Schedules interviews with hiring managers and candidates.
  • Leverages behavioral-based interviewing practices for in-person interviews with hiring managers to evaluate candidate fit to organizational core competencies.
  • Creates job offers for selected candidates, ensuring Equal Employment Opportunity for all and promoting the Credit Union's Affirmative Action Policy.  Extends employment offers that coincide with the Credit Union’s compensation philosophy.
  • Provides candidates with a thorough understanding of the Credit Union’s operations, culture, employment policies, and benefits.
  • Supports Branch Administration and other key business stakeholders in workforce planning and staffing initiatives.
  • Manages job fairs and other off-site recruiting events and represents the Credit Union at such functions.
  • Responsible for all aspects of tracking employment statistics including resume applicant tracking.   Prepares reports relative to recruitment and retention. 

HR Representative Functions:

  • As needed, performs the following:
  • Prepares job postings for internal applicants and generates employment ads on various job boards, social media channels, and Credit Union website for external consideration. Applies the Credit Union’s Affirmative Action responsibilities when considering advertising media.
  • Conducts new hire orientation sessions. Explains terms and conditions of employment and obtains the requisite information and signatures. Explains policies on all employment-related issues. 
  • Completes all necessary steps within the HRIS to maintain up-to-date and accurate information on employees.
  • Creates organization-wide announcements in the areas of recruiting, employee change in status, and other critical information relative to HR.
  • Prepares and delivers offer letters and applicable pre-employment paperwork to candidates.
  • Processes new hire background checks, drug screens and other pre-employment requirements to ensure candidates are hired within established policy.

Other Responsibilities:

  • Provides feedback and career coaching to employees as it relates to recruiting and career development.
  • Identifies areas of opportunity within Recruiting and coordinates with Talent Management Specialist on the implementation of new processes and initiatives.
  • Manages Credit Union’s Educational Assistance Program.
  • Supports other functional areas within the HR department on various ad hoc assignments.
  • Establishes and maintains a network of contacts outside the Credit Union to promote an active exchange of information related to employment and staffing.
  • Coordinates placement of temporary employees to fulfill department staffing requirements during peak periods.
  • Performs related duties and special requests as assigned.

 

 

 

Requirements

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or a related field required and one to three years of recruiting experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Previous HRIS/ATS experience preferred.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:

None required.  PHR or SHRM-CP preferred.
