Under minimal supervision, the Programmer Analyst–HR/Payroll reviews, analyzes, and modifies programming systems including encoding, testing,debugging and installing to support an organization's client/server software applications, performs data conversions,creates customizations, maintains detailed documents,develops interfaces,implements upgrades,and creates and maintains reports.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

Kronos Timekeeping System

  1. Monitor and maintain allinstalled Kronos timeclocks and ensuretheyarecommunicatingwith the central Kronos database.
  2. AssistIT client services in debugging and fixingproblems with Kronos users’ pc clients.
  3. Ensurethat allKronos servers/databases areworkingcorrectly.
  4. Assist Payroll Supervisorin maintainingand creatingpayrules as needed.
  5. Modify/createKronos reports as formallyrequested byPayroll Supervisor.
  6. Maintain Kronos timesheet feed intoPeopleSoft payrollpaysheets.
  7. Install softwarepatchesand upgrades as needed.
  8. Primarcontact in working with Kronos customer servichelpline in resolving problems.


  1. AssistIT client services in debugging and fixingproblems withPeopleSoft HR users pc clients.
  2. Ensurethat all PeopleSoftHR servers/databases areworkingcorrectly.
  3. Maintain/create modifications toPeopleSoft HR/Payrollsystem asformallyrequested byPayroll
  4. Supervisorto include SQR reports, COBOLprograms, and PeopleTools objects.
  5. Assistusers in creatingqueryreports.
  6. Install taxupdates, softwarepatches, and upgrades as needed.
  7. Primarycontact in workingwithPeopleSoft customerservicehelpline in resolvingproblems.
  8. Maintain/createalluser fileinterfaces between PSHR/Payroll and outsidevendors.
  9. Generate themonthlypayrollgeneral ledger entries file to beloaded intoOraclefinancials
  10. Respond to inquiries byfinancestaff regardingdetails on monthlygeneral ledger entries and other ad hocinquiries byfinancestaff.
  11. Responsible for eComp maintenance

OtherDuties &Responsibilities

1.         Workingdirectly withpayrollstaffin generatingthe payrollperformingsuch dutiesasloadingexceltimecard dataintoPeopleSoftpayrollpaysheets,reconcilingKronos hours withPeopleSoftpayrollhours forseveralsites, generatingand printingpaychecks andadvicestubs, generatinganddistributingpayrollinterfacefiles.

2.         Troubleshootingerrorsin performingpayrollprocessingto ensure thatpayrollis done ontime.

3.         Other duties as assigned


1.   Actively participates in the implementation of sustainable improvement processes, sucas 5,Kaizen , TotaProductive Maintenance(TPM), Daily Management Control, Standard Work and Problem Solving.

Education:      Bachelor of Science in Computer Science or related field

Knowledge, Skills&Abilities:

Minimum 5 years with People Tools in a business environment supporting PeopleSoft Payroll North America, PeopleSoft Global Payroll, PeopleSoft HR, Oracle E-Business Suites, and associated business processes SQL, Microsoft Access, Oracle and Web enabling and object oriented technologies. Employee must have the ability to express complex technical concepts effectively, both verbally and in writing and to work well with people from many different disciplines with varyindegrees of technical experience. 

Employee must have exemplarcommunication (both oral and written), skills. Must be a highlmotivated self- starter, with outstanding interpersonal skills and the ability to work independentland take ownership of a process. Must be able to work in a team matrix environment, encouraging information sharinand knowledge seeking,and must possess business skills and have the ability to transfer these skills to others.

Employee must havgood strong customer service skills; be able to sense and respond appropriately to the feelings, needs and concerns of others. Proveability to gather critical information and the ability to quickly diagnose problems and provide an immediate solution or escalate the problem to the accountable technical resources for a solution definition, ensuring that the support process loop includes communication back to the customer.

The employee is expected to be self-directed, take initiative and be persistent wheappropriate to accomplish necessary dutieand keep busy without prompting. Additionally,the employee is expected to be  adaptable/flexible to changing work assignments,analytical,organizeand detail-oriented,perform multiple tasks at once, compose correspondencand other documentation in a professional manner,express ideas constructively,activellisten to others,manage time effectiveland efficiently to meet deadlines,learn and memorize procedures,display a cooperative attitude,read,understand and follow all company,job specific and safety policies/procedures, and attend/use all required training.

Travel:      Travel mayoccur domesticallyand internationally as required

Working Conditions: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is typically required to regularly conduct work in a controlled office environment,moving around the officas needed,sittinat a desk, using office equipment, including but not limited to a personal computer, fax machine, copier and telephone,read, write, listen, speak, and understand English, have the ability to work independently, be dependable and maintain confidential information,integritand composure at all times.

Constant contact with individuals internal and external to the organization occurs via various methods of communication, typically including face-to-face discussions, electronic mail, phone calls, written letters and/or faxes.

On an as needed basis, there will be exposure to plant areas, which include exposure to outside weather conditions as well as loud noise from equipment and dust from production processes. While performing the duties of this job, an employee is occasionallrequired to have the abilitto lift materials weighing up to and including 30-50 pounds.

Work Hours: Must have ability to work the shift/number of hours in which duties need to be accomplished, including overtime, holidayand weekends, as necessary. Call-ins may occur as needed.
