Essential Functions: The program manager(PM)position reports to the Manager of the Department of Judicial Education and the Assistant Manager of Judicial Education. The PM is responsible for supporting the course development process used to offer judicial education courses to judges, magistrates and commissioners through the department. Course development management involves working closely with volunteer faculty to provide cutting education and training based on the principles of best practice adult learning. In addition, the PM is responsible for managing assigned education-related projects, assisting with the department's annual educational events including, but not limited to the New Trial Judges Orientation Residential program (NTJO), Judicial Conference, New Law Clerk Orientation (NLCO), New Orphan's Court Orientation (NOCO), etc. ThePM isexpected to be proactive,creative andable to manage the workload effectively,efficientlyand successfully.

 

Requirements

Education: Juris Doctorate from an accredited college or university.

 

Experience:Three years coordinating education related programs.

 

Preferred: Member of Maryland State Bar Association. Preferred experience in coordinating largescale and complex programs or projects. Three years conducting legal research and analysis on substantive legal issues.

 

Skills/Abilities: Knowledge of Human Resources principles and practices; Knowledge of databases as a learning management tool. Ability to administer instructional programs; Ability to conduct legal research and analysis and interpret the law; Skill in the use of technology in the


delivery of educational services; Ability to interact and communicate effectively with staff, management, external stakeholders, judges and attorneys, verbally and in writing; Ability to use critical thinking skills; Success in managing multiple priorities successful and complete in a timely and efficient manner; Ability to perform the essential functions of the position.
