Summary:

Working closely with the VP of People Operations and People Director, the Payroll & HR Coordinator at TMS will process payroll for the company and offer general support to the People Team. The Payroll & HR Coordinator’s primary responsibility will be that of processing, reconciliation, and disbursement of semi-monthly, multi-state payrolls and commissions. The Payroll & HR Coordinator will do so, while also maintaining customer satisfaction by providing a timely response and resolution to payroll service requests. The Payroll & HR Coordinator will assist with the day to day operational functions of a busy HR department.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Maintains and processes semi-monthly payrolls including hourly, salaried, and commissioned team members in a multi-state environment.
  • Reviews and manages the time and attendance system for all team members to ensure accuracy.
  • Provides customer service to team members and managers for various payroll related needs.
  • Processes and assists with monthly commission payments and calculations.
  • Researches and resolves payroll and payroll tax-related issues.
  • Processes garnishments, support orders, and any other third-party payments.
  • Processes verification of employments; both written and verbal.
  • Updates employee tax and direct deposit info as requested.
  • Maintains payroll files in accordance with Company policy, as well as federal and state regulations.
  • Drafts separation letters, as needed.
  • Initiates/processes background and credit checks.
  • Assists with departmental mail management, as necessary.

Requirements

  • 2 yrs. experience processing multi-state payroll, including hourly, salaried, and commissioned staff
  • Prior mortgage/real estate industry experience preferred
  • Must be detail oriented and able to multi-task
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to deal with sensitive and private information, in a mature and confidential manner
  • Strong interpersonal (verbal and written) communication skills and the ability to communicate with various levels of management
