The Payroll and Benefits Manager will be responsible for effectively directing and performing all payroll functions, including preparing and processing payroll, benefits administration, ACA administration, 401k processing, supplemental benefit processing, etc. for the franchise group of 39 (and growing) clubs. Responsible for managing and overseeing the Payroll/Administrative Clerks performance.

  • Responsible for preparing and processing all payroll functions for all clubs within the franchise group, including but not limited to: processing of payroll checks, calculation of labor reports, wage garnishments, employment verifications, payroll deductions, 401k administration, benefits administration, etc.
  • Interacts with HR, Operations, Accounting and other key departments to coordinate, process and ensure accuracy of payroll changes, i.e. employee pay and status change requests.
  • Properly and accurately processes and uploads files such as incentives, bonuses, and all other special payment entries.
  • Updates payroll records by reviewing and approving changes in exemptions, insurance coverage, savings deductions, job titles, and department/division transfers.
  • Maintains proper communication with HR on employee changes such as new hires, terminations, transfers, severance, bonus payouts, etc., as needed.
  • Reviews current payroll, benefits and tax procedures and partners with HR to recommend and implement process improvements to establish best-practices.
  • Manages the following reporting processes: ACA, EEOC, etc.
  • Prepares and analyzes HR and recruiting data including turnover costs, etc. for the review of management.

Requirements

Two-year college or university program certificate; or four to six years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.  Associates or Bachelor’s degree in Business or Human Resources preferred.  Computer skills to include Microsoft Word and Excel, including formulas, creation of spreadsheets.  Excel pivot table experience preferred.   SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR or SPHR preferred.
