Customers Bank, recently named by Forbes magazine as the 35th Best Bank in America (there are over 5,700 banks in the United States!), has an exciting opportunity for a Payroll and Benefits Administrator within our Team Member Services team.

As a Payroll & Benefits Administrator, you will report to the VP of Payroll and ESPP Manager and will be responsible for the administration of employee time and attendance, payroll processing, and benefit programs. This individual will also be expected to perform work of substantial importance in accordance with current applicable federal, state, and local standards, guidelines and regulations, to assure that proper administrative procedures are maintained always.   We are looking for a strong communicator with excellent organizational skills, who thrives in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate would be someone who is energized by growth and change.

Responsibilities:

 

  • Process payroll in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Accurately enter changes, new Hires, terminations, and Paydata Batches in ADP. Perform verification of entries in system to ensure data integrity and completeness

  • Ensure biweekly pay of Commissions, Bonus (Spot & Referral), and adjustments are processed and communicated to the Team Members affected.

  • Manage time and attendance process, including Time Off for all Team Members.

  • Serve as backup to the Benefits area.

  • Generate reports, scheduled or adhoc, from the ADP system. Analyze specified team member data and generate periodic and/or ad hoc summary reports, as appropriate;

  • Send payroll reports required for General Ledger to Accounting for debit and verification.

  • Participate in payroll related and 401k audits.

  • Assist in updating processes for Payroll & 401k in the Operations Manual.

  • Analyze and interpret data from system generated reports.

  • Process State applications and assist with tax notices

  • Continuously expand knowledge of ADP Payroll, HR, Benefits, and Time & Attendance.

  • Proactively reviews and recommends improvements to current payroll and benefit processes and workflows

Promotes technology to increase productivity, decrease rework and eliminate manual effor

Requirements

  • 5 + years of experience in payroll processing required
  • Ability to manage team member data, utilizing an automated HRIS system (Experience with ADP Workforce Now preferred)

  • Superior comfort level using technology

  • Knowledge of applicable federal, state, and local laws related to payroll and HR, such as FLSA

  • Experience generating reports from HRIS systems, analyzing data, and creating reporting metrics

  • Experience with evaluating and selecting HRIS system and software, as well as experience with growth platforms where key decision making was necessary

  • Ferocious attention to detail

  • Team oriented with excellent listening, written, and oral communication skills

  • Ability to stay focused and work in a deadline intensive environment

  • Highly organized and process driven

  • Flexibility with priorities with ability to determine what requires immediate attention

  • Perform with the utmost honesty and integrity

  • Ability to remain calm and collected in pressure situations

  • Desire to constantly learn and develop new skills related to Payroll & Benefits

  • Ability to maintain the highest level of confidentiality
