Laskowski Ace Hardware is currently seeking a part-time Recruiting Coordinator for our corporate office located in Round Lake, IL.

About the Position:

The Recruiting Coordinator is responsible for attracting candidates, evaluating resumes, scheduling and conducting interviews, managing employment testing and referring applicants for positions across store locations. Coordinates with the HR Manager to manage sourcing, interviewing, onboarding and employment processes. Oversees recruitment strategy to ensure the hire of qualified employees to meet the company’s current and future needs.

Responsibilities include:

  • Maintaining and improving upon recruiting procedures
  • Partner with managers to discover staff requirements and specific job objectives
  • Coordinate with store managers to forecast future hiring needs
  • Maintain and update recruitment and onboarding documents, tools, methods and procedures (e.g. job application, interview questions and onboarding processes)
  • Write and post job openings
  • Evaluate and screen resumes and online applications
  • Conduct phone interviews and schedule qualified candidates for in-person interviews with managers
  • Coordinate appropriate employment testing
  • Research and suggest job advertising options
  • Develop advertising programs (internal and external) to ensure high visibility with potential candidates
  • Advise and train hiring managers on interviewing techniques
  • Recommend ways to improve on-boarding and hiring strategy
  • Stay up-to-date with current recruiting methods
  • Participate in job fairs, career and school events
  • Develop and maintain professional relationships with high school and college placement offices as a source to generate qualified applicants
  • Follow up with candidates and hiring managers to obtain feedback regarding recruiting process
  • Manage current candidate activity in the applicant tracking system (ATS)
  • Manage application/resume file and retention according to company policy
  • Maintain reports on recruiting activities and report to leadership on the recruitment efforts

Requirements

Minimum

  • Associates degree in Business Management or related field or equivalent work experience
  • Demonstrated ability to problem solve with minimal direction and supervision
  • High attention to detail with strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to organize and manage time effectively under strict timelines within a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights and weekends
  • Familiarity with social media and online job boards
  • At least one year of HR assistant or recruiting experience that includes screening and evaluating candidates
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Familiarity with HR databases and applicant tracking systems
  • Excellent verbal and written communication
  • Solid knowledge of HR policies and best practices
  • Positive attitude

Preferred but, not required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or reflated field
  • SHRM-CP or PHR credential. 
  • Retail experience
