The Human Resources Associate is responsible for assisting in day-to-day Human Resources initiatives, programs and processes.


Key Responsibilities


  1. Administers systems and manual files supporting new hires, terminations and employee changes.
  2. Supports employee benefit administration. Sets up employee benefits records in the system and performs the necessary calculations, monitors enrollment dates and adds or deletes employees to and from the system as required, calculates and reconciles amounts due to the respective vendors, tracks employee absences and benefit days balances, and alerts managers and supervisors of discrepancies. Identifies process improvements to streamline operations and maintain adequate controls across the organization.
  3. Supports payroll and benefit processing.
  4. Assist in providing analytical support. Gather, process and report qualitative and quantitative data around, compensation and employment data and trends (e.g. measuring retention and turnover rates, drawing conclusions and recommending solutions to help ensure maximum efficiency and control of HR functions).
  5. Assists with administrative projects/duties within the Human Resources Department , including compliance paperwork, organizational charts, departmental procedures, and internal and external reports and surveys.
  6. Administers HRIS system, including oversight of new and existing system modules. Maintains and updates departmental system access reviews.
  7. Administers company reward and recognition programs
  8. Assists in the on-boarding experience for new employees
  9. Promotes and maintains a positive work atmosphere by behaving and communicating in a manner consistent with professional standards to get along with members, co-workers, management and vendors.
  10. Cross trains and works closely with the rest of HR & Training team to serve as back-up for critical functions.
  11. Keeps abreast of industry developments including, but not limited to, changes in regulations, technology, etc.
  12. Ensures adherence to company policies and procedures and Banking/Credit Union Regulations.
  13. Performs additional duties as required.



The Human Resources Associate works under minimal supervision exercising some independent judgment.  This person must be action oriented, self-motivated and creative while being highly functional.  


Essential Skills, Knowledge and Requirements

  1. Three-five years of compensation and/or benefits experience preferred.  
  2. Bachelor’s Degree, business or Human Resources major preferred.
  3. Excellent problem-solving, organizational, analytical, verbal and written communication skills.
  4. Must be detail oriented with strong decision making and time management skills including the ability to manage multiple projects/duties.
  5. Trustworthy with the ability to maintain highest level of integrity and trust.
  6. Proficient in Microsoft Office, specifically Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
